I have always believed that Bon Vivant on Thistle Street serves some of the best food in Edinburgh, and I am happy to say that the Stockbridge location is just as fantastic. The ambiance is cozy and candle-lit, without feeling cramped, and the menu changes regularly with simple yet unique items. You can sample bites of the starters, allowing you to try more dishes. The prices are reasonable, and the starters (such as chicken and rabbit sausage rolls, butternut squash and feta spring rolls, and juicy bacon-wrapped prawns) were exceptional. For my main course, I enjoyed melt-in-the-mouth ox cheek with a light and fluffy bone marrow bread and butter pudding, and broccoli. Dessert was a warming...
The menu offered a variety of options, from classic French dishes to more modern fusion cuisine. We ordered a selection of dishes, including the escargot, coq au vin, and crème brûlée for dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The service was attentive and friendly, with our server recommending a great wine to pair with our meal.
Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience at Bon Vivant Stockbridge and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and delicious meal in a great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Realised I had been to the same place before albeit under a different name. Dark and cozy, French style restaurant. Had a lovely selection of Festive bites to start followed by a succulent cod fillet which flaked effortlessly. An impressive cocktail list was perused over and had a Freezer Martini. A little pricey but well worth it.
From the started, main course, desert and also the cocktail everything was delightful!! The waitress were very kind, very good attention. The place is very cozy, i love everything about this place I totally recommend it. I am not easily surprised and this time every dish surprised me in a good way.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff was fantastic and the service was excellent. I would definitely return to spend a relaxing afternoon just enjoying the laid-back atmosphere. It was a wonderful discovery. It's a shame we have to leave to go shopping.
Really good food and drinks, they are flexible with the kind of drinks they can prepare, the one I ordered was not at the menu, and they still made it... The ambient was great and the staff extremely friendly... I will definitely I will go back another day.
