I used to live on Hackney Road and The Bright Store was my go to for croissants, chai lattes and good chat. Pre-COVID, I like to take my laptop and work from there too. Post COVID consisted of takeaway, delivery and beating the crowds to the croissants on the weekends! You can also purchase books, homewares, gifts and merch. I just love this little cafe. I do hope that once this pandemic passes, they can hold events there again. Their event space is lovely, open and intimate. I've attended a few ticketed events there and I'll keep an eye out for future events. Fingers crossed. Just happy to see The Bright Store reopened and serving their lovely food and bev again. Absolute queens.
I had a gluten-free toastie and it was delicious. I ordered the tritrolo (pesto, cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes). The server was very kind, the coffee was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised that the gluten-free toastie was only around £3.50, not the £7 I expected. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact price.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in London. It's a lovely cozy spot with a small but delicious variety of baked goods, both sweet and savory. The coffee is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is great. There's seating available inside and a bench outside.
