My friend and I visited last night and they had ran out of lots of food and wine options. Three of the starters we wanted weren’t available and four of the mains had also ran out. The waitress mistakenly gave us the wine list meant for staff- at the top was written ‘sell sell sell! Don’t sell based on food parings, base on price’. Many of the wines were also unavailable so it was a frustrating meal as we ended up ordering food and drink that we didn’t really want lol. We won’t be returning, which is a shame as this used to be a great pub!
my better half and I went for an impromptu lunch at her birthday today when we both worked from home and were child-free. we saw this place a few times when we were parking on sainsburys and curious to know how it was. we are very happy that we have made it! big tucker, and we both went after three spectacular courses that really feel very happy! I would certainly recommend there is a jump, and we will definitely be back!
Blown away by the quality of our meal we had on Saturday afternoon at the British Queen in Locksbottom. All of our food was wonderful but what made the experience even better was the inspiring kids menu…all too often you’re given the same old beige food to choose from…not on this occasion! Lovely meal, lovely staff. Thank you very much, we will be back.
kanadier, what an absolute pleasure it was, a conversation with him, so friendly and brilliant service. re illuminated the fire for us and remained open to closing for a past, so we finish our beer decor inside and the overall quality of the pubs is excellent. eating amazing and always was. high end pub but absolutely the best round

We went to the British Queen for my husband’s birthday and really pleased we did. The best Sunday roast we can remember having the beef was cooked perfectly, roast potatoes were tasty and crispy and lots of delicious vegetables. I’m dairy intolerant and the staff were really accommodating. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Perfect Sunday Roast!! Just look at that Yorkshire... The meat was beautiful cooked, the crispy kale was the star! Generous plates and great service... Location was good too, parking was available nearby. Surely recommended and will definitely go back!
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch with outstanding service. The cheese soufflés were just as delicious as ever. Our Australian guests particularly enjoyed the roast beef and roast chicken, both served with Yorkshire puddings.
Couldn't fault this place. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, our waitress was attentive, efficient and helpful with menu choices. The food was exceptional. All in all a great lunch, thank you.

adam and his team looked after us as well as we arrived. the wild mushroom tart (starter) was one of the best I tasted and the Pan-fried stone bass with prawn potatoes was also delicious.
large Brat dinner is not overcrowded and full safety observed. I have my dog and she was very well treated. disabled access and garden area.
