While I have never written a negative review before, our experience at this restaurant was truly terrible and I feel compelled to warn others. Upon entering, the bartender immediately expressed his dislike for people and made us feel unwelcome. The atmosphere in the pub was unpleasant, with signs pleading to save the establishment. The bartender was rude to our group, even after we bought him drinks in an attempt to lift his mood. He then informed us that we were no longer allowed to order more drinks, for reasons unknown to us. This unfortunate incident could have put a damper on our birthday outing, had we not quickly found a much friendlier bar nearby. The beer was subpar and the customer...

I first visited the BP n the 1970s and it’s been included on many a day out over the years and I’ve never had anything other than a nice pleasant experience in there. This time the carpet was sticky, the tables were sticky the place needed a good scrub. The loos were a bit wiffy, too. Throw in to the equation that I didn’t really like the beer either, despite “querying it” with the not awfully friendly bar staff. Half of our party were female but a gobby customer was loudly effing and jeffing in the corner, further detracting from the experience. Not a pleasant experience at all. Yuk.

I loved the atmosphere and the beer selection! Great people working as well, I came for a half a pint to charge my phone and had 2,5 pint instead thanks to Justine all of her recommendations were great! Enjoyed the beer recommendations and attitude. And got a sit thanks to her PS just want to say to the management that I re convince myself again and again people buy from people; good team you have!! Hope that the rest of the team will be as customer centered as Justine

I stopped by this renowned pub in Manchester before attending a Suzie Quatro concert at the Bridgewater Hall, which was amazing!! Unfortunately, the pub was a mess. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, filled with black mold and the walls were peeling with cobwebs everywhere. The outside area was equally run-down. It seems like this place is in need of a deep clean. The staff could also use some improvement in their communication and customer service skills. Réservez une table maintenant

Quirky little (big) pub, with lots of rooms and a huge beer garden. Good selection of drinks, plenty of seating and a traditional feel inside. It was a warm evening, so we sat outside and enjoyed drinks under the stars! Worth a visit if you are staying in the area.

A pretty nice old pub just outside central Manchester. Lots of nice features, various rooms inside. Cruddy old toilets. Could probably do with more staff as it got busy and service was pretty slow. Plenty average whisky. A few interesting ones. Not cheap at £14

Great traditional pub, small clean rooms. Busy atmosphere, friendly staff and customers. Good selection of beers, spirits and soft drinks. Close to our hotel and the venue we had seen a play at. Will visit again.

If you like your Guinness in the wrong glass and rude bar staff, you’ll love it here. If you want a perfectly pulled Guinness, in the right glass, served the right way, try the Nags Head or Mulligans. Réservez une table maintenant

Sadly gone down hill since the landlady left and sold out. Bar staff language is to be desired. Fingers used for lemons. Great if it was a vault But maybe this is progress
