Went today for Sunday lunch with friends (party of having made the booking last time we were there a few weeks ago (when the service was mediocre but not too bad). It was a booking and whilst there were some tables were occupied...already it was far from busy. Initially, drinks arrived quickly and order taken promptly. Even the starters arrived quickly and were excellent. And then things god worse. All of our party ordered the Sunday roast easy peasy for any eatery but after an hour and a quarter I had to enquire where the main course was. Let’s start with the positives, extensive menu and good quality food, lovely country pub. That’s where it ends I don’t mind waiting for good quality food but having to ask repeatedly for menus drinks, another round of drinks etc is not acceptable. Over for courses, nobody checked if our food was ok, our daughters pork loin was laughable it was tiny, I heard the waiting staff inform another table that they had run out of pork loin, she obviously got what was left which would have been ok for a year old, unfortunately she’s and paying for an adult meal. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have always found it to be very good quality food and attentive service, but not today. We were left unattended for well over half an hour before our order was taken, starters came after another mins...but we then waited nearly hours for our mains. It was very busy but that is no excuse as we were definitely ignored. We managed to catch someone’s attention and they brought desert menus but then never came back. After another long wait we had to go and ask for the bill so we could leave, no deserts for us. There was no real apology just a “we are sorry but are understaffed” The question is why take bookings if you know you can’t fulfil them. We won...
We had a great experience at this charming country pub with a cozy atmosphere. Located near our cottage, it was the perfect spot for a delicious meal. We tried their steak night special for £10, which included a steak, chips, salad, and peppercorn sauce. The steak was high quality and the chips were reminiscent of traditional chip pan chips. The prices were reasonable and the service, while a bit slow, was friendly. We enjoyed our visit so much that we returned twice during our 5-day stay. This spot is also suitable for families with children and dogs.

Let's start from the beginning. We had a family meal which seemed to be going well at first. However, we had to wait for replacement drinks and remind the staff. We waited a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, some meals were missing from the order. Some of us had to wait for our meals to be cooked while others ate. Honestly, the meals weren't great. It was supposed to be a special treat to dine out, but Brownlow Arms completely ruined the evening for us. We will not be returning.
The charming rural pub had a mix of experiences. Upon arriving on a bustling evening, some of the bar staff were quite dismissive. There was a bit of a mix-up with our reservation, resulting in us being seated at a cramped corner table with limited legroom. Despite the extensive menu and specials board, the food was delicious. However, the excessive wait time, over an hour, without any communication from the staff was disappointing.
visit in last months for Sunday lunch. Always been excellent home cooked food... When you eventually get it. Really need to sort out your waiting staff... hours for a course dinner... Bearing in mind, it took hours for the starters...to arrive. Could have made a Sunday dinner, eaten it and washed up in the time we were there....and this wasn't a one-off... Just kept giving you the benefit of the doubt. Please sort out your service x
Great food fabulous staff headed by Connor, we meet great friends and have made lots more friends who visit every week, had a wonderful lamb Sunday lunch and it had to be good as we have eaten so many Xmas dinners! But Barbara didn’t disappoint...us exceptionally good thank you sooo much for a lovely lunch once again ,

Really super tasty home made meals for all. So much to choose from. Drinks were served in super quick times. Arrived at and got a saver menu. Entree's served at mains at and sweets at Happy staff and all very funny....Thank you.
