This places was recommended to us by a friend who lives locally. We were up for wedding and wanted a lovely Sunday lunch before heading back to London. The food and service were amazing, 3 courses for £20 is incredible value. I had the pork roast and it comes highly recommended. I will make the trip from London again, it would definitely be worth the drive! Had on heart one of the best roast dinners i've ever eaten out. If I could improve one thing it would be to have salt and pepper grinders not shakers, or at least be offered ground pepper, then it would be perfection!
these places were recommended to us by a friend who lives in front of location. we were on the high season and wanted a nice Sunday dinner before we returned to london. eating and service were amazing, 3 courses for £20 is incredible worth. I had the pork roast and it is highly recommended. I will make the trip from london again, it would be worth the trip! had in the heart of one of the best frying dinners I've ever eaten. if I could improve a thing, it would be salt and pfeffer grinder not shaker, or at least ground pfeffer, then it would be perfection!
Good food, comfortable and relaxing surroundings. But sadly, that 's the only good thing that can be said. Service was so slow. One side dish didn 't turn up. A complimentary dish of chips that was offered, also never turned up. Annoyingly, all evening all we could hear was constant apologies being offered to diners. We were left with the impression that that Butchers Arms had recently gone through extensive renovations, and so maybe the aforementioned issues were teething problems ?
On arrival I ordered a Pimms which came with no fruit or even mint so that was disappointing! We then we 're walked through to a seating area then to be told we didn 't have to actually sit there and we could sit anywhere. Menus were still being printed and had to wait 10 minutes for them. Menu was limited . Food was very tasty however both meals were just warm and got cold quickly. From a food point of view DELICIOUS. Just needs to work on those finishing touches!!
After booking for a Sunday lunch we were informed that they had runout of Yorkshire puddings and roast beef.. After ordering an alternative, the potatoes and vegetables were rubbery and difficult to chew, also the menu was not child friendly at all.. No complaints with service but food was terrible. Won't be going back.
This was out first time here, having heard and read good reviews. Even though it was a weekday lunchtime, it was still quite busy. The waiter/barman was polite and friendly. There were three of us eating and all chose different dishes and we all really enjoyed each course. We will certainly return.
Went for Sunday Lunch and was very impressed. 2 course menu £17, 3 course £20. Sufficient choices of starter, main and dessert. Food quality and quantity very good and excellent service (attentive and good humoured). A little out of the way but definitely one to go back to!
