It's #TacoTuesday so you know what that means! I'm checking out another spot for some yummy tacos! Today's pick was The Butt Hutt Smokehouse. I grabbed the 2 tacos combo with a side. For my choice of protein I went with the Jerk Chicken and I picked Collard Greens with Brisket as my side item. Paired the meal off with an Orange Blossom Pilsner. The tacos were fantastic with great flavor and spice. I really liked the cilantro lime slaw they topped the tacos with as well. The collards were okay. Just not my preferred flavor palette. This was my first time visiting the restaurant since they have opened it. I’ve been to the food truck several times. The food didn’t disappoint at the restaurant. The service was very up to par and welcoming. The restaurant was also pretty clean and I like that they have a patio area. I got the fatty brisket sandwich with fried okra, the meat was so tender this was my fave. I also tried the ribs and chicken and they were good however the ribs were a little tough for my liking. The wings were juicy and tender with good flavor. I would most definitely recommend this spot for your next barbecue fix.
Omg ate here today for the first time but definitely not the last!! I had a platter of jerk chicken, brisket , baked beans potato wand all of it was so delicious!! The brisket is the most tender, moist flavorful I’ve had in Jax! The jerk chicken was very tender flavorful as well! The sides were just as yummy! Watch out for that heat sweet sauce it’s really good but has a kick to it! The whole pls s is a vibes with cool music, great staff excellent service!! They plan to have live music on the huge patio once the weather gets cooler! Highly recommend this gem!!
I tried this place a few years ago as a food truck… I had no idea they opened up a brick and mortar storefront. I’m sure glad they did! Their brisket is absolutely amazing and the owner (he actually cooks it himself) takes a lot of pride in the meat he puts on your plate. I’ve been there 3 times in 2 weeks since I found the place and I take my coworkers with me each time. Same response from all… The vibe inside is unique and cool. The food is awesome and the employees actually talk to you! I Highly recommend this awesome spot!!! Réservez une table maintenant
Closes at 9pm but when we walked in the door at 7:15 told we are out of Brisket, Ribs, Burnt Ends understand burnt ends but a BBQ running out of Ribs and brisket 2 hours before you close on a Friday night? Then they say to us if you want brisket need to be here by 5pm. I’m sure the food tastes great when they have it? But to drive 45 mins to be told should of been here at 5 is disappointing to say the least.
Sitting here currently at this restaurant… And OMG!! The food is so bomb! Please don’t walk run here! The food, the service, the everything! Thank you for your wonderful service. Whenever I’m in Jacksonville, I’m definitely stopping here. BTW… I had the jerk chicken tacos with everything on it.
Fantastic customer service you can tell they really put a TON of love into the food it was A1! 10/10 flavor town ordered brisket sandwiches and slaw which is different but you gotta try it won’t regret. The sauces were all fire and unique as well! From Bama with love will be back!
