If you’re looking for low grade and a bad quality food with a lot of flavorful add-ons to compensate for the difference, this is the spot. The staff is very friendly so I don’t regret the 1star. The food here is absolutely unacceptable. We stopped in for a lunch during our weekend stay and from the many things ordered in the “pirates meal” we only picked at a few items (French fries, chicken fried rice, and the broccoli) everything else was a waste of money and the seafood wasn’t prepared and handled correctly. I might just be expressing my own views, but here's my take on the restaurant. On the positive side, the staff were exceptionally friendly, particularly with children, and there was a dedicated Kid's Meal section on the menu, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, I found the seafood dishes to be lacking. The market-priced seafood was bland, and the sauce was too thick, drowning out the flavors of the shrimp, mussels, and clams. Serving the food in a plastic bag felt more like a gimmick than a thoughtful presentation, especially since the whole shrimp still had their legs and heads attached. The seafood at Capital’s Boil was excellent! I especially loved the real spicy flavor—it had the perfect kick. We really enjoyed the food overall; everything was fresh and flavorful. The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small, with just a few tables, so seating can be limited. That said, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. My experience at The Captain's Boil was a bit of a mixed experience. The food was tasty and full of flavor, but it was also extremely spicy. I had requested mild, yet even the fries were too hot for my liking, which made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. I also asked for a light garlic sauce on my king crab leg, but it turned out to be overwhelmingly garlicky. If you prefer milder dishes, this spot might not be ideal for you. The seafood fried rice from The Captain's Boil was overly oily, with oil even dripping from the takeout box. It was disappointing that one of the most popular items on the menu turned out this way. While the rice was decent, the shrimp were quite good. On a positive note, ordering online was very smooth, which earns them 2 stars. The Captain's Boil should focus on improving the overall food quality.
I had an amazing experience during my first visit to this restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the service was top-notch, and the food was delicious!
