We have been coming here for years but unfortunately I think it must have changed hands and has gone rather downhill. We were very disappointed. Firstly we reserved a table. No-one seemed aware and we were told a table of 4 was available. We had the carosel cream tea (had many times before) and there was no egg mayo available which we werent told about when we ordered it, they had to come back over and tell us. The waitress didn't know what kind of cakes were available (and made no effort to find out) so I had to get up, walk over to the fridge, find out and tell everyone back at the table. When the food arrived, all the cakes were paired up with the wrong sandwiches so we had to swap it all...
We popped in as we normally do for a treat and unfortunately it is no longer the same. All new staff and different set up. One staff member an older lady was very rude when taking the order and literally threw the plate on the table when our order came. Could hear clearly the same lady bickering with staff. Not what you want to see or hear. The only friendly member of staff seemed to be a younger lady who was really nice. Not only this, but the cake was a let down and so was the coffee. Really disappointing as we used to love coming in on a Saturday morning after swimming. It also seemed unorganised and untidy. Will need to find a new place to go! Shane as the old staff and set up was great.
What a lovely quirky place, with old time fairground memorabilia throughout. The owner and the lady working with him were so friendly and took our order even though they were close to closing! The toasted sandwiches were delicious, freshly made and with crisps and a side salad. I did love the tea for two being served in bone china, a lovely touch and there's no doubt it makes the tea taste better! Even the background music was good! If we lived near enough this place would be a regular for sure.
Been before but didn’t realise it has new owner and team. The day I went in was quiet only two tables being used but the place was a in disarray . The counter was a mess food all over it lady I think was running it was rude not only to staff but customers . There was only one persons In front of me but after 5 mins hadn’t been served as the gent that looked like he was prepping food was bickering with the lady that worked in there . Sorry had to walk out it was a shamble .

We popped in here for a Cream Tea, and some cakes for the children. It’s such a little gem, with wonderful staff and such great value for money. The manager, Tracy, couldn’t have been more helpful, and the other staff were polite and obliging, I highly recommend paying a visit. A fabulous cup of tea, in proper tea cups, which in my opinion, is exactly how it should be done. Well done Carousel!
We had a disappointing and unfriendly experience at this restaurant. The older woman at the counter was sour and ignored us, making the young server look unhappy. We later found out there are new owners who do not run the restaurant like before. It's a shame that the friendliness has declined. We left without ordering, even though we were hungry. We are locals but won't be returning.
First visit to the area and stumbled upon this little place for a cuppa and cake. Welcoming staff and it seems a popular place with their reasonable prices. Small inside with people tending not to linger after finishing. Like getting off the ride once done For me, the food cake and drinks were just average. Will add a for the nostalgic decor
Came here on our first visit to Tewkesbury. Partner and I both had the breakfast and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Had a nice calm atmosphere and able to have a conversation which isn’t always possible these days. Will be retuning. :

My husband and I stopped by for lunch at this restaurant. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches that were both fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and there was a great variety of options on the menu.
