I booked the Cattlemans as it was recomended by someone who had been there several years ago and had a great meal. By all accounts it used to be a top steak house. We were a party of and we all had a steak. Out of the only had been cooked correctly. I sent my cremated medium well, bone dry steak back and it came back less than later as a rare steak with blood oozing out all over the plate but again burnt on the outside! This was a fillet and they got it wrong twice. Even the two steaks that had been cooked OK were nothing special and of us didn't enjoy our meal. This was on top of the fact the meals took over an hour to come in the first place and the chips were barely warm when they arrived...

This restaurant used to be a great steakhouse with Tex-Mex cuisine. While it was on the pricier side, you used to get what you paid for. However, my last visit was disappointing. I dined with my family (6 adults and 2 kids) and we ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. Unfortunately, the steaks were of poor quality and not cooked to the requested doneness (medium rare came out well done, for example), the burgers were dry, and the Mexican dishes were served cold. The staff appeared distracted and, although they apologized, they didn't seem to truly care. It's a shame that this restaurant, which used to be a favorite, has declined in quality.
This was my first time in Harrogate but I was really in the mood for a good burger. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and the staff were efficient and friendly. I ordered the Cheesy burger and chips, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. The portion of chips was a bit small but still satisfying. The Blueberry pie for dessert was a fantastic way to end the meal. I can't speak for the steak, but it seemed like the other diners were enjoying their meals. The burger was a bit on the expensive side compared to others in the area, but overall it was a nice experience and really hit the spot.

Great place for meat,went here after going to Harrogate Turkish Baths, We went mid wk so was very quite in there,however we was looking for good food not atmosphere, we wasn't disappointed either,wife...Nachos starter with full rack of ribs and sweet potato chips,me...chorizo and king prawn skewers with half rack of ribs,gilled chicken breast and chips...Nothing left on the plates! Lovely good,polite friendly waitress, food brought in good time! Would definitely go again if I the area! X
We noticed that the restaurant is an independent establishment which told us 'this will be the place to go for an excellent steak ' and we were absolutely spot on! The atmosphere was great, the food delicous and the staff were friendly. The menu was varied so a great all rounder if everyone in the group doesn 't particularly want to eat steak although it was cooked to absolute perfection so I would thoroughly recommend. Looking forward to a return visit, that 's for sure...
I dined at this restaurant in November 2010 and unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. Despite having enjoyed decent meals here before, I found the ambiance of the room to be a bit cold and my steak was not as warm as I would have liked. The salad that came with it was also quite uninspired. While this restaurant has had a great reputation in the past, it did not meet my expectations during my most recent visit.
very friendly and pleasant staff. even if it wasn't busy, it still had a good atmosphere. we had ribs to begin that just fell from the bone they were so tender. T-Knoe steak for both of us with chips and one with jacket...Kartato one of the best cooked steaks I ever had. very good wheelchair access. will eat here definitiw again.

Great steak house, really good food and fantastic service. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Appeared to be very popular and even turning people away so booking is advisable!
Very welcoming, and friendly staff. Steaks were superb with a good choice of starters which were also very good. Will definitely return.
