The Chequers Inn Bar Restaurant

I'd give this place NO STARS but I can't! The new management of The Chequers treat the pub as their lounge! They have a baby running around everywhere, the management sit about whilst customers wait at the bar to be served with no concern about...how long you wait and there is no professionalism at all. The food is diabolical, in fact it's totally inedible and the service is really inhospitable. What a shame as it used to be a really good, friendly, local pub. The new management are TERRIBLE and obviously do not understand what hospitality is. You'd think they would as it's the industry they work in! I'd avoid this place at all costs and visit another pub such as the Royal Oak in Bitterswell...

We decided to try out a new restaurant and stumbled upon this charming inn with a rich history. We received a warm welcome from the front line staff, especially from a young dark-haired girl who seemed to excel in all aspects of hospitality. The continental bar was a nice touch, and our burgers were beautifully presented, hot, and a good portion size without being overloaded with fries. The girl even came to check on our food, which is often overlooked by other businesses and shows great customer service. The chef should be commended for their skill in preparing delicious meals. We highly recommend this wonderful establishment and will definitely be coming back.

I was welcomed with a very warm reception upon arriving at the restaurant. I had missed eating, but the hostess went out of her way to quickly prepare a meal for me. I can't thank Deborah enough for her excellent and exceptional service. I also enjoyed a few drinks at the bar, which was cozy and inviting, leading me to decide to stay the night. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return in the future.

This restaurant is a cozy, family-run pub with exceptional bar staff, great prices, and delicious food. Deb and Tony were incredibly welcoming, and Gracey's friendly and helpful attitude made our visit even better. We can't wait to come back! Such a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere, a vast improvement from the previous landlords. Great selection of drinks my husband loved the beer. Lovely pub grub, burgers are fantastic. Big thank you to Debs, Hayley team for your great service. Definitely worth a visit! Xx

large traditional country pub with good food, made everything better to look at us with a sharp, bitter gracie and who could not have been more helpful and fun. I hope to come back one day!

Nice warm welcome in our beautiful local village pub. Staff are always smiling and helpful. Burgers are very filling and delicious. We are lucky to have this beautiful pub on our doorstep.
