The Chequers Public House

Delicious food and excellent service. We had starters, main courses and dessert and all were very tasty, well presented, and obviously freshly cooked hot. Our waitresses were lovely; kind and helpful and very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. Well done The Chequers; we'll be back!

Walking the Greenwich Meridian Trail, got here after 8+ miles from Royston. A pint in the garden then a great Sunday lunch, with the Thai fish dish a standout. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a nice touch when the owner came to find us and say hello. Top marks!

This restaurant was very mediocre. The vegetable tempura needed salt before frying and there was not enough sauce. The duck salad was dry and the pulled pork croquettes needed more mayo. The yellow Thai curry also lacked sauce. However, the service was good.

Lovely pub in Orwell. Had been to wimpole Hall and pub nearby. Great food and service. Limited menu. Dogs welcome Réservez une table maintenant

It's an OK pub, it shut at 8.30pm last visit due to no staff!
