My partner and I had the most amazing meal here yesterday. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, our drink orders taken followed by an invitation to sit outside. Our menu was brought to us swiftly and we placed our orders before being escorted to our table on the other side of the restaurant, giving us an opportunity to see much of the historic building. Bread rolls were served to start, shortly followed by our starters. I had the chicken liver parfait and my partner the pastry and mushrooms, both of which were exquisite. Our mains included the roast beef. Everything was cooked to perfection; I do prefer my roast potatoes to have a crispy outside, however this is simply personal preference....
We made a last minute reservation on Saturday afternoon, as my daughter and I were passing through Peterborough and wanted to try something different to the high street offerings. We were delighted therefore to have found this restaurant 20 minutes outside town centre and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. 5 stars for service (with a smile from Emma and other team members, and 5 stars for the food which exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is really pleasant. I’d describe the clientele as a slightly older age demographic (that’s me too! which means there’s a background of muted conversation and quiet music generally a nice warm atmosphere. Our second visit to The Cherry House in Werrington to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked to the time we left we have been treated respectfully with patience, grace and consideration. We witnessed a beautiful ballet of delivery by the waiting team and a philharmonic concert of food from start to finish. One of many things that stand out in the delivery, is you are not asked how things are before you get a first mouthful of food like many eateries do and for that I truly commend the restaurant as it shows confidence from prep to table as every morsel of food wad perfectly cooked and presented. A lovely meal beautifully presented and very good service by the young staff on a busy night. Our service was prompt and the entire meal served with appropriate time between courses. Thank you. We return again and again. A small entrance seating area for drinks while waiting to go into the restaurant. Drinks can be a tad pricey. By the bottle a good selection good price range. Tables set with damask tablecloths and napkins and silver cutlery. China abounds. A delight. Lovely log fires in the winter. The food is both hot, well cooked and presented and a taste delight on the tongue. So lovely to have ones own dish of vegetables as extra and not have to pay extra. At last a sensible restaurant... A charming building in a lovely location that offers exquisite fine dining. 20 family members came here for a farewell party and after e-mailing the establishment regarding my vegetarian option, the food did not disappoint. My starter was a golden beetroot salad drizzled with basil oil and balsamic syrup which was delicious. My main was filo pastry stuffed with spinach, emmental cheese grapes and pecans in a pool of herb sauce, which was something completely different for me to try, and didn't disappoint. A great place to visit for a special occasion.
This place is special! It's a quiet little thatched cottage just off the seemingly quiet main road. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the servers are extremely attentive. Oh the chef, he definitely knows his kitchen. His food is absolutely fantastic. It's the 1st time the 3 of us have been. We each ordered a different dish for each of our 3 courses, and it's was worth every penny and will most certainly be going back again very soon.
visited with elderly vegetarian family members, I mentioned this to Andrew when I booked and he offered other alternatives than whats on the usual Sunday menu. They both agreed it was the finest veggie option they had ever eaten at a restaurant. Réservez une table maintenant
