My parter and I read so many good reviews of this place, and the second we sat down we were disappointed. The establishment was noisy, and the table service was almost non existent. The drinks arrived after the food had been served, and the quality of the food was terrible. The chicken wings were incredibly dry. The mushrooms had basically been cremated. The sausages we were served had the consistency of cardboard and they tested even worse. The food quality in a Wetherspoons is to a higher standard then here. Safe to say, we won't be eating here again. We were really disappointed with our visit.
I apologize for my delayed review, but I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who worked on November 28, 2017. You helped make our daughter's high school reception truly special. The staff was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the price-performance ratio was excellent. The bar service was also fantastic. This is a fantastic pub! The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and it’s dog-friendly while still being exceptionally clean and tidy. The view over Portsmouth is amazing, even from inside. The space is large but comfortable, avoiding a sterile feel, and is beautifully decorated with a contemporary theme. There’s a spacious outdoor dining and drinking area that complements the stunning view. The food is of good quality and reasonably priced. It's definitely worth a visit!
we came home last night on the way home. it was great to see that since we last visited the place to have changed the hands. everything looked fresh and well presented. the staff was friendly and since it was quiet, there was no waiting time at the bar. The restaurant seats were well furnished and there were a lot of menus. Outside there was a new large sitting area and a new outside. next time we will stop for eating to try the menu.

Afternoon lunch, service was good, kind friendly staff. We all had lasagna but to be honest it wasnt all that good, tasted cheap microwave version with far to much sause and rashed on meat had grizzly bits in but the sides of garlic bread with added chips onions rings was very nice and the side salad was delicious so not all bad. I would advise to change suppliers on lasagna as disappointing.
great atmosphere! such a beautiful surprise. Live music was fab, tom millichamp they are a star! tasty eating, great service of bar staff, namely kelan, who could not have done more to make our visit so perfect. well made churchillian team! we'll be back soon.
Having been here a few times before thought it would be nice to stop for lunch whilst in the area. Evidently fully booked, yes two tables occupied in view and one behind us. Ah well, possibly next time or possibly not….
beautiful lobster and cocktail calamari and shrimp starter. followed by cod and chips horses. fender fish perfectly cooked. beautiful atmosphere, good decor. great view. service was timely and friendly, even if busy.

beautiful pub, dog friendly with amazing view on both sides of the hill. really amazing for an evening meal and a drink. beautiful vegan options like a beetroot tar or a vegan nachos. comes back definitiw.
