The food was fantastic. Unfortunately the whole experience was pretty much ruined when we got the bill. When you order a dinner it comes with a free soup, salad and side. When asked what options we would like for soup it was the free soup or we could upgrade to the French onion for $2 more or she offered lobster bisque. Upgrade implies a few dollars more on top of the free soup offering to get a better soup. What they did was waive the free soup completely and charge us the full $11 it would have cost to just buy the lobster bisque by itself. That in my opinion is not an upgrade. A group of us went there for a friend’s birthday a few ago and I was extremely disappointed with the service. We were a group of 15 which I understand can be a lot of work but we went in the evening on a weekday and the restaurant was empty. Our server was by far one of the rudest servers I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. He was condescending and demeaning to a lot of our group. He would whistle and snap his fingers at us to try to get our attention. Absolutely amazing service accompanied by great food and inviting atmosphere! To expand on above, I recently visited Clawson Steak House in December, 2024 with a friend. I had previously been here a few years ago, and recall having an okay overall experience at that time it wasn 't bad, but it was just kind of middle of the road. Six of us had dinner there New Years Eve. One ordered calamari, he said it was like eating fried rubber bands. Two of us had prime rib that was so tough we struggled to cut it. Three people had New York strip steak. One person liked it, the other two said it was gristly and tough. Additionally, the soup was lukewarm, the salad basically was just lettuce. What a great night out in an absolutely packed house. Atmosphere is amazing. Staff was super nice and attentive. Drinks were great. If I'm honest, the food could have been a little better based on the prices. It wasn't quite Mr Paul's or London Chophouse quality despite boasting the same prices. I brought a group on a charter bus. Parking absolutely sucks for a charter bus. So I decided to stay with the bus. The staff was incredible, and the server Tracy made sure my meal was ready before my party started eating. So I was able to eat and enjoy my meal. The food was incredible as always.
