We had been going to this take away for years and we re really pleased with it, always fresh food, freshly cooked and hot when we got home. Howebver twice now we haev been dissappointed. First, when we got home to unwrap the fish and chips, the fish batter was so cooked that it must have been cooked twice, it was so hard and we couldnt eat it. Next time, we ordered two mini cod and one small chips, and when we got home to unwrap it, not only was there just one very mini cod, but a huge portion of chip,s and once again the fish was so small plus it had the appearance and taste of having been cooked twice The first time we told ourselves we would forgive and accept it was a one off, but not tw...
My chippie of choice on Malinslee was closed for three days, so today i had to make a divert to this place much against my better judgement and true to form the chips were vile and only luke warm, i thought hot prepared food should be kept at a prescribed temperature in the hot cabinets? my piece of fish was also only luke warm? and quite a small piece seeing as the female serving called it a large fish? what a joke, the only item that was satisfactory was my wife's portion of Scampi however that was also a disappointingly stingy small portion as well i have to say, i will make sure i will avoid this place in the future even if it is the only chippie open in Telford, i would rather go withou...
The Codfather 's been our 'local ' chippie for the last year (been through a couple of nearer ones but just not reliable enough, so the extra mile drive is worth it). It 's a necessarily unhealthy treat maybe once every month or so. It will be better in the summer when you 've got the weather to suit sitting by Horsehay Pool but for now happy to bring the chips home. Always decent portions and always nicely prepared I 'm old fashioned enough to stick with the idea that you only buy when the shop is busy so the chips are piping hot and fresh. Friendly service and the pre order option has really helped in the lock down.
Chips are crisp, golden and perfect, not a soggy chip in sight! Curry sauce and mushy peas are on point, as are pineapple fritters and pies. Fish on the other hand is another story, hadn't seen a such a lanky cod until I visited the cod father. Staff confirmed fish was cooked from frozen and recommended that the wait was longer as such. Been using this chip shop for years but as of late it’s gone down hill, and rapidly. Chips were undercooked and barely any fish left inside what only can be described as a ball of batter. Staff very rude and blunt. Inside needs a face lift as there’s a lot of dead flies around the window. Pictures to follow shortly. Thanks
absolutely beautiful fish and chips. honestly, the chips are the best around! I never had bad service (I have gained weight since I know about this place) and eating has a full of taste and the fish is of course amazing that I am not a fish human. eating is worth every penny. yummy yummy
Have been using this establishment for a few months now and had various items Fish cooked fresh lovely light batter and succulent moist fish , kebab was awesome,Somoza lovely Staff are great friendly and helpful every time HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit you won’t be disappointed
