I usually eat out 5 times a week. This place will be one that I’ll never visit again. The young Black American female working the front counter has awful Customer Service. I observed her laugh and take in what the White American’s had to say, but when it was a Black American Person, her demeanor changed, not in a good way. I decided to reach out to my entire family friends that live in Portsmouth to ask if they ever had a bad experience with this Young Lady. My family members confirmed exactly what I seen. What a great hidden gem! My husband and I were visiting Portsmouth for an event and we wandered in this morning since we missed the hotel breakfast. I’m SO GLAD we did! The coffee was amazing and had great sugar free options for me. The food was hot and delicious and I took home several pastries to go. But, the best part was the atmosphere. This is clearly a neighborhood establishment and the patrons all knew one another and the lovely people who work here. Easily 5 stars would highly recommend!
The ladies that were in the shoppe today around 3:00pm were gold! I brought my toddlers in there, and they treated myself and them so kindly it brought me to tears! Everything was wonderful! We had a pb&j, the Elvis, a smoothie, a cold coffee and a turkey melt and everything was delicious and great sized portions! The hospitality of those women alone are enough to bring me back! The kindness was so appreciated!
So the guys an entrepreneur who owns the place.. he does an outstanding job on his products(which he makes HIMSELF and doesn't depend on a staff to read from a ingredient menu to put HIS touch on HIS product)my wife that I got the coffee for was above estatic I recommend this place to anybody who takes pride in their daily coffee this man knows how to make a morning worth waking up to !! One of the cutest places. The food was amazing, the coffee was perfect. The prices were not too shabby especially compared to other coffee places. Will definitely be back. Parking can be tricky. We went before an event started and got parking. When we were leaving, there was NO parking available.
