This restaurant was very busy, so we decided to order some lunch. I ordered the gourmet Tennessee chicken burger along with two other burgers and drinks. Considering how busy it was, I was expecting a wait for the food. However, as soon as I sat down with our drinks, the food arrived unexpectedly. Unfortunately, my burger was incorrect so I sent it back. The staff member seemed uninterested but brought me a new one shortly after. What a disgusting place toilet smelt like pee and toilets overflowing ordered via the app drinks came quickly which was good shame about the food over 25 minutes and the place was only half full with plenty of staff two lads behind the bar throwing paper at each other the floor staff didn’t have a clue other food was sitting there waiting to be brought over but no they just kept walking past until I had to go and have a word or sorry they said what’s your order I said table 45 which she replied what did you order I said look at the screen in front of you and it will tell you what I ordered sadly these pubs are going down hill fast
This restaurant was a bit peculiar, it felt more like a conference venue than a place for performances. But there have been some improvements since previous reviews, as the seating wasn't as cramped and the comfort level wasn't too bad. However, it might become more uncomfortable during longer shows. I saw nurse Georgie perform, who was brilliant, but the set-up was a bit strange. There was a warm-up comedian, followed by a long break, and then Georgie performed. It would have made more sense to warm up the crowd first and then take a break, rather than the other way around.
The Toilets in The Corn Exchange are absolutely 100% Disgusting....You need to go into at least Five different Cubicals to find one half descent...watched a member of staff come out after signing the Check Sheet...went in to check if she had cleaned up and flushed the loos and replenished the loo rolls as most were empty.. NO she hadn't .. The only thing that was done...was the sink area had been wiped!! I did complain well before Covid about the state of toilets and was told that they will be refurbished in September!!!! I did ask which September.....what a joke.

I must say at first I thought it was very good but once the food started arriving I thought again my steak turned up completely burnt and tough nowhere near how it should have been. The staff were very slow to clear the table so we started doing ourselves. Also we asked for a couple of straws for the the kids drinks and were told we were not allowed them as they don't give them out with drinks now. Certainly will not be coming here again
I am a big fan of Wetherspoons but not of the toilets in the Corn Exchange. They are consistently disgusting. Rarely cleaned or toilet roll replaced. Also very few flush properly. I have seen staff poke their heads into the cubicles and then tick the sheet to say all is fine. Such a shame this lovely venue is let down by the ladies toilets.
Not sure what people expect, this place is clean, smart, the food is exactly what it says on the menu and the best value anywhere. Drinks are literally double in most other pubs and the service is better than most other pubs in Bury St Edmunds .. highly recommended
This restaurant offers good value for money with straightforward, tasty food and a great variety of drinks. The staff is friendly and the historic building adds an interesting touch to the overall dining experience.

What a beautiful building!!! Such a shame it is unloved. Dirty tables, dirty floors and toilet cubicles broken. We had a drink here and moved on as we didn’t feel it was clean enough to eat here.
Wow, excellent customer service. One meal ordered then informed sold out. A more expensive 2nd choice at no extra charge and complimentary drinks.
