This is a lovely, unassuming neighborhood restaurant with a remarkably brilliant menu. As guests enetered during my visit, the staff would shout from the counter, sit at any clean table. They are attentive and friendly. It definitely has a warm,settled, family-owned feel about it, if you know what I mean. I had come for brunch and I was torn between, Malaysian spicedpulled pork topped with over medium eggs, crispy fried onions, and shredded ginger in a a crisp rice wafer bowl and SouthAfrican Hash: A Spicy Beef and Lentil Hash over poached eggs and an English muffin topped with Bearnaise ' sauce and crispypotato shavings. This charming breakfast spot is located in the heart of town. There is one waitress taking orders for indoor seating and another for outdoor seating. The menu is not your typical breakfast fare, which piqued our interest and led us to give it a try. We opted to sit indoors due to the hot weather. Our server had assistance from a cleaning staff and the owners to refill our coffees. However, the owners seemed preoccupied chatting with regulars, so we had to signal our busy waitress for a coffee refill. The food was tasty, and the coffee was decent.
I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have always been impressed by the amazing food and service. I highly recommend trying the bacon wrapped croissant filled with scrambled eggs and cheese, as well as the hollandaise, goat cheese medallions, and hash. The menu is diverse and extensive without being overwhelming. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to gather with friends. I was surprised to find that I was able to pay with a credit card, despite previous reviews stating that the restaurant only accepted cash.
I went to this restaurant with a friend for brunch on a weekday and we were both blown away by the amazing options. We each ordered a different style of stuffed French toast, which was made with whole fruits instead of just mashed. The homemade whipped cream was delicious and the French toast was so good that I didn't even need to use the syrup that came with it. We went for Sunday brunch and were disappointed by the lack of hospitality. After waiting in the warm and noisy restaurant for a while, we were finally told by an outside server that there was a table available outside. The menu was diverse and interesting, with huge portions. I tried the crab quesadillas, which were decent but not outstanding. Unfortunately, my home fries were served at room temperature. My husband ordered the stuffed French toast, which he found very tasty but quite sweet.
The food had good flavor, large variety on the menu. Menu items were not easily modified, for example, you cannot order a side of the African hash, only served as part of a large meal. The lattes and hot chocolate. We're very good. Huge portions and well presented. We may stop back next time. We're in town but not something we would drive in specifically for. They do take credit cards, Apple pay or Google pay as well.
Service was incredibly efficient and was warm and inviting. We ordered 3 items for breakfast; pork belly, duck and French toast. All were beyond delicious and the pesto put the pork belly over the top. The duck was perfectly spicy. The French toast wasphenomenal and the best I've ever had from West coast to East. We will definitely come here again when visiting this area.
I arrived at the restaurant around noon on a Saturday. It was chilly outside, so we were only able to sit inside. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated quickly. The food had a variety of delicious flavors! We tried both savory and sweet dishes, sharing between the two of us. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy.
