Arrived at hotel to a ten minute wait to be checked in, room key handed over and asked if I wanted to book the resteraunt.....I did, so that was great. I asked for an 8.15 slot and was told that was fine. Arrived at resteraunt, sorry we don 't have your booking and we are closing soon. You can go to the bar and order food if you want. Reception, sorry the restaurant is very busy, fully booked. I have booked I say, I will check manager now nice man . Oh you have booked but there has been a mix up, so sorry about that I will get you a table. Head of to the resteraunt, got a table and had dinner......the resteraunt was half empty and didn 't get busier. So it 's not the 'mistake ' that has got...
Waited almost half an hour to have a drink order taken, best part of an hour before food arrived. When it did, the bbq glazed pork belly was a lump of over cooked pork which seemed to have had half a bottle of bbq sauce poured over it post cooking. The accompanying squash was half raw, and the mashed potatoes was the consistency of Smash. Whilst not the restaurant’s fault, this experience was made all the more special by two police officers talking very loudly about the violence they’d managed to perpetrate on various members of the public. Whilst their crassness is not of the hotel’s doing, I did feel they could have addressed the fact that a huge amount of “c” and “f” words were emanating...
I met with a colleague in the cafe/restaurant of the ground floor. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly. I did not stay the night so can't comment on the bedrooms but did have some food from the restaurant which was very tasty.My only disappointment was that it was very very cold and there was no option to have decaffeinated drinks. These are only minor things as overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
The portions are small and expensive, like something you would find in a hotel. I tried multiple dishes during different business meals, and all the vegetarian options were tiny. You end up still feeling hungry after eating and having to pay high prices typical of a hotel.

Whilst the staff were welcoming and efficient, the food was pretty poor. Starter was a salty mess and the beef was bland with half-hearted sides thrown together.
Our meal consisted of a set menu with small, but edible portions. The desserts were gateaux that had become a bit soggy from being left out for a while.
Food is of low quality, you have to wait for ever. At least they tried to make it right by giving free drinks but my advice is to go somewhere else!
The food was decent and the service was good. It was a reliable dining experience, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was satisfactory.

The foot itself is fine, its the hour wait to get even a drink put on the table that bothers me. Total let down ended up ordering in.
Food was good, but service slow due to coach trip. Also the menu seems more limited than the bar menu?
