Myself and my family (a table of 4 had decided on a post payday treat and thought The Crown is spoken about but we have never been – booking here was the best decision. The pub itself is oldy-worldy, quirky and just really quite cozy. On arrival we ordered our drinks and were shown to a table upstairs, a table with a tablecloth, wine glasses, side plates and menus waiting. Not long after we had settled a large group were sat down next to us, leaving us to initially think ‘we aren’t going to be able to hear anything now!’ (The restaurant was empty apart from us and the group being a Tuesday evening! . We only stayed for one night, using the location as a starting point to explore the area, and our experience was fantastic. The room was very spacious and well-equipped, with electrical outlets conveniently placed throughout. The room also had a well-equipped kitchen area, which was a pleasant surprise. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meals were delicious, with generous portions that we couldn't finish. Breakfast was also excellent. All the staff we encountered were genuinely friendly and helpful. Other larger hotels could learn a thing or two from this place on how things should be done!
We had a right issue with our booking not showing and arriving for all the rooms to be full. Despite this, we managed to secure an evening meal and morning breakfast. Pretty bog standard food and doubtful I'd make the effort to return. Quite a... Réservez une table maintenant
