The Crown came highly recommended by a colleague and I initially wanted to book a room there, but they were already full. Jake had no hesitation in recommending the Barn guesthouse next door, which is where we did stay. Nice community spirit! However I did book dinner for the two nights we were staying and very glad I did. Spacious, yet cosy, very traditional, charming interior. Lots of local beers to choose from as well as wine and soft drinks. We only had main courses, but they were very substantial and beautifully cooked. On the first night I had a delicious (and massive) Chicken Parmo and on the second night an excellent bacon cheeseburger. Jake and staff were all incredibly friendly and very accommodating, thank you all very much, will definitely be back!
I visited here with my 2 daughters to have a lunchtime treat and some mum daughter time we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and although we hadn’t booked this wasn’t a problem an we were told we could sit anywhere we ordered drinks then after studying the menu ordered food myself an 1 daughter had baguettes an the other had a full meal an my young granddaughter had fish an chips an WOW what a portion it was ALL our meals were excellent and the side of chips were amazing crispy and soooo yummy the pub is lovely an cosy an we were made to feel very welcome an will most definitely be visiting again in the near future :
We went for a Saturday night meal here and really enjoyed it. Large carpark at the back, free for patrons. On a cool, damp September evening it wasn't too busy. The food was a bit pricey at around £17 for a main but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the atmosphere was cosy. My daughter and husband had desserts and they were beautiful, I had to sample them! Sticky toffee pudding was lovely. Light and treackly. We would go back.
