Went for a Sunday lunch with family. I've lived in the area for many years so have seen the Crown Greyhound change from a local pub to what it is now, large and extended with a hotel on site and a large restaurant. Our table was ready when we arrived. We asked to have our table wiped because it was sticky. Felt the server was not impressed with our request and actually didn't clean it very thoroughly, however she was fine one we placed our order and helpful. Service was not always quick to respond, plenty of servers but hard to attract their attention. We ordered roast lunch and it was very good indeed. Very generous servings, nicely presented and and well cooked. Desserts were equally good....
I am annoyed with myself for going because on the rare occasion I have been the service has been bad, but it is my local so I thought I would give it another chance. Had to wait ages at the bar for a Diet Coke and some food. When the food came it was wrong, I asked the waitress for some help in changing it, and I was told twice she was far too busy. Another man at the bar also said he dreaded coming in because the service is bad , but had to come because he had been invited by others. It’s a shame because 20 years ago it was great. I visited Dulwich after a long time. After walking the dogs in the nearby woods, I decided to take a stroll down memory lane. I have vivid memories of this pub from my youth and I was happy to find that it still retains the charm and character that I remember so fondly. After enjoying a couple of pints of Harvey's Best, I was delighted to see the large chestnut tree that I used to play around as a child. I want to thank the staff for being so kind and hospitable, indulging me as I rambled on about old times. You are all truly wonderful.
Love this place. Found out about it in summer when looking for a good beer garden and omg it won't disappoint. Since then I've been with my boyfriend, work mates, parents and they've literally got something for everyone. If you want a really good Sunday lunch this is the place to book! The guys who work here are so lovely and we always feel really well looked after

Chef specials were phenomenal. My children, both particularly fussy eaters, devoured everything. Extensive wine selection featuring the wonderful E. Guigal, Côte-Rôtie certainly makes this somewhere we will consider for future special occasions.
I had a fantastic day out at the restaurant. The staff were incredible and the fish and chips were some of the best I've had in a while. It was my first time back at the Crown in a few years and I absolutely loved it.
I recently went to this pub with some friends for food and drinks. The atmosphere was great, especially the lovely garden area. The service was also excellent!
Fantastic Sunday lunch, cannot fault. Make sure to book as they were heaving!! We managed to get one of the last empty tables. Will definitely be back!!
