being among those, experiencing the crown inn at hallow's first masterpiece, repeatedly made, I was intrigued when I was invited to go back and try some dishes from their new menu just a few weeks later. my usual dining room partner (aka mr r) could not join this time, so I took one of my best friends. a preview evening had been organized to present the new menu of the krone, which was launched on 22 september and was created by new chef chris monk, who met once before in the kitchen in le champignon sauvage. the 5-speed tasting menu offered a selection of dressed from the new menu and was priced to a very reasonable £29.95 per person (including a glass prosecco at arrival). a wine flight to...

Worst meal we ever had . Out of 4 meals only one was edible and that was the burger. I had pie and mash the others had a carvery. All of our food was cold. Sent it back so they must have put it in the microwave) but it was still cold. The mash did not look appetizing at all. Sent it back did not want anything else but they did do us a ploughman's to share obs didn't need to be cooked) and that was as nice as it got. Eventually after speaking with the manager they did not charge us. It's terrible service and will not be going back. Does not deserve even one star
Have never been before, but passed it a lot and always looked busy, so thought we’d try it. Firstly, over £12 for a glass of wine and a Diet Coke was extortionate. Sat in the beer garden. What a mess. The tables and chairs are disgusting. Half the paint is missing, what’s left is old and flaky. The table and chair legs were covered in green algae. Tables needed wiping, tipped over plant pots, soil in the tables. Did not want to sit anywhere. Drank our drinks and left. Réservez une table maintenant
in the early evening Sunday lunch with family. friendly staff and beautiful ambiente. a lot to choose from the menu and service was pretty good. but two of our parties on Sunday lunch was warm and I decided wrong with the blade of bark that was quite fat. one of our party was happy with his meal. not the best meal I fear. the wine prices were a demolition of an ordinary.
a group of us is here after a local walk. the staff was very friendly and welcoming. the menu had veggie options for people like me, but each set of options for all. my meal was beautiful and saw the empty tellers of the group they obviously enjoyed their meal too. michelle, our waitress, was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable! and highly recommended!
