Located in the charming village of Heslington, just a 15-minute drive from the center of York, The Deramore Arms has always been a great pub. With new management in place, it has only improved. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the menu is full of creative dishes that are both delicious and reasonably priced, thanks to chef Jack's excellent preparation. The drink selection is impressive, including a few top-notch Yorkshire beers on tap. During our visit for a light lunch with both young and old family members, everyone was eager to come back as soon as possible to enjoy the experience again.
This pub is now under new management. We visited for Sunday lunch and had a great meal. We started with delicious French onion soup and then enjoyed a main course of roast beef with all the fixings. The recommended Pinot Noir, chosen by the owner Dan, was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
Visited this beautiful pub today as a large group of family (17 of us). Nothing was too much trouble and the waiting staff were so accommodating. Thank you so much for your hospitality, you made our family get together even more special. We will definitely be back.
Dropping our youngest off at uni, thought we’d eat lunch here. Very quiet (probably busier after 6). Fairly limited lunch menu, but food was tasty.

Fantastic little spot, great selection of beers, really good pub grub food menu and armchairs by a fireplace. What else could you need?
Lovely, welcoming local pub. We always enjoy coming here after a nice, long local walk. We always have a good pint and a lovely lunch.
