The Diner Vancouver

We have visited now The Diner Vancouver 5 times in the last 3 weeks. We love many things about this place; the mission, the design of the institution, the food. The thought that went into the design of the room, translated into the dishes that are not the coarse, greasy splatter will get you at most breakfast places in Vancouver. The eggs Benedikt, while nothing new with the use of layered ham against a coin of Canadian bacon (ew) are increased, the Hollandaise sauce is also on point. I'm not a fan of cookies and Gravy EVER, but after tasting my men at our first visit, I ordered it at our next visit. The food, while traditional dishes, feels fresh and I appreciate it. I also love their mission, the ?Tips at meals on wheels people, that feels really noble and says a lot about the employees working there. All in all we love the vibe and the food and it is now a breakfast stack for us.

Or third or fourth visit, can't remember exactly. Every time it was about lunch, we never had any complaints. Today I ordered the breakfast burger, cooked with a little pink and an over-easy egg, swap frits in instead of the hash browns. My children, because of the lack of a (always still developed) children's menu, both opted for the big yogurt and granola parfait. The food is always fresh and always served hot (except the parfait). The service is always pleasant, and at the couples the house was packed, it was just a short wait for a table. Definitely safe in the weekend rotation!

The Diner is a solid addition to Vancouver breakfast establishments with the added twist of being for a good cause. Instead of tips, you leave donations to help support Meals on Wheels People. The food is good, though nothing special. They were not super busy early on a Saturday morning which was nice! Service was very good.

Quality Diner food, good price, good specialities, take case with pastries and cakes. Love the mission of this place, the subsidized or free meals for seniors. Staff will pay for living wages and benefits, and all tips will pay for the subsidized meal program.

Sweet little diner with excellent service. Bright, cheerful inside. The food was made fresh, coffee tasted at the point. Proceeds benefit from meals on wheels.
