Booked online and arrived 5 minutes early, the restaurant smelled a bit strange and we noticed as soon as we walked in. I requested on the booking to sit in restaurant but we were shown to a table one away from the bar. I said we requested restaurant and was ignored as the guy walked away. Waiter came over a few minutes later and looked very stressed. We gave our order and were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets which used to be £1.99. We said yes please and then waiter advised they were £3.99. We just said ok and went up to get our food there wasn’t much of a queue for a change and I got my meat, good selection of potatoes and veg. We came Tuesday evening 4 of us. Had an amazing carvery. Our table waitress was polite and very helpful. The restaurant it self was very clean and tidy and felt welcoming. When we got to go for our carvery we were just behind 4 people so no wait really. The chef was polite and clean and tidy in his serving of the meats. He gave decent slices of meat as well. The vegetables were good . Plenty of everything. We were so pleased with our meals we all sat in silence eating and enjoying it. After recently having been to Brockworth and had to queue for about 40 mins to get to the servery with very little vegetables left and it was a complete mess . We have come back to our favourite toby. Well done...
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We went for a family gathering to enjoy their Sunday carvery. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly, shown to our reserved table, and made to feel very welcome. The carvery was exceptional, offering a choice of five meats and unlimited servings of all the other delicious sides. Everything was incredibly tasty, and we had no complaints at all. The staff checked in on us regularly to ensure we were satisfied. We highly recommend the Sunday carvery here for its great value, but be sure to book ahead as it gets very busy.
We have just been here for the worse breakfast we have ever had……. All dried up eggs old and swimming in fat. Bacon all dried up, sausages and hash browns all over cooked and bowl of mashed up veg which I suppose was mean to be bubble and squeak, . basic offerings no scrambled eggs only fried. No black pudding no veggie options. Best part was the coffee. Toast machine either undercooks the toast or burns it really needs adjustment. It was only 9 ish when we arrived so I would have expected better. Loads of workmen who obviously went for quantity not quality. An absolute disgrace.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way to Essex and found that the food was some of the best we've had at a Toby Carvery. The meat, in particular, was exceptional. However, when the bill arrived, we mentioned to the server that we believed there was a 25% discount offer. He seemed unsure and suggested that we double check on the app. This surprised me, as I used to work at a Toby Carvery and we were always informed about all promotions and offers. Despite this experience, I would still recommend this restaurant and would be willing to return in the future.
Had a table booked for Saturday afternoon. Sadly we were less than we had booked for. This wasn’t a problem and the friendly lady sat us at our table. She then introduced Dean to us and he was exceptional Totally professional and friendly and explained all options. He checked back on us through the meal and was on hand with a sincere smile. Im a hotel and restaurant manager and was so impressed with Dean. A true asset to the business. Keep up the great work Thank you Trefor
Absolutely faultless food and service tonight. Not had such pleasant service or easy going amenable staff anywhere for a long long time. Special thanks to a staff member Cara who was working hard and still calm, friendly and efficient. No waiting, excellent food and very inexpensive. Fantastic value and experience all round.
