I appreciate the authenticity of The Door. I've patronized your Restaurant for over 15 years. No regrets about any meals purchased. However, the WAIT TIME is atrocious. On 8/19 at 7:13 pm, I called in my order for 2 Large Fried Chicken. I arrived earlier but elected to wait until 7:50 thinking out loud that 30 minutes should be enough time. I get to the counter and was politely asked can you give us another 10 minutes for Fried Chicken. To avoid the waiting area which is filled with dissatisfied patrons also sharing disbelief in the wait time. I returned to my car. At 8:05 pm I returned to the counter and was told your order is not ready. Unreal we are approaching 1hr for fried chicken, not...
So after reading the reviews on Yelp I was intrigued to try the food. Upon arriving at the restaurant there was a 10 -15 min. So we elected to get to go. The to go side of the restaurant has a different entrance and it was packed. About 10 -18 people had already placed their orders and 4 people were waiting in front of us to place their orders. So from the looks of it the food perceived to be good. So after waiting about 30 mins for my food be ready I was ready to indulge. My taste buds were truly disappointed. My goat was old and not good at all the rice was hard. I won't be returning.
The is the most service I?ve ever received at a Jamaican establishment. It?s not embellished, it?s just good. And the food is even better. We started with the red pea soup and the chicken soup, both were astounding! I knew we were in for a treat whenboth soups were delicious. I had the curry shrimp with rice and peas and my partner had the curry chicken with groundprovisions. We were full after 3 bites. It was all so savory and the right amount of spice. We will return!
The ambiance is absolutely fantastic! I visited this place twice during a long weekend in NYC. While the drinks are quite expensive, the food is phenomenal! The servers were really attentive, and I enjoyed chatting with the person who brought around the cornbread, even though I didn't have any. It's an amazing spot that's definitely worth a visit!

I ordered takeout on November 29. I had the rundown snapper which was extremely salty. I also ordered Rasta pasta creamy. That’s not what I received. I live too far to take it back so I wasn’t too happy. I also heard it’s a hit or miss with this place, so I guess it was a miss for me today.
I love the door for over 10 years but the service is so slow. I place my orders for pick up and still have to wait forever to get my food upon arrival. They need to do better they make a lot of money get some people that actually like their jobs.
Caribbean cuisine is available for both takeout and dining in. The restaurant seems to be a victim of its own popularity, with a bustling takeout scene and somewhat hurried service. However, the food is excellent once you manage to settle in.
Came all the way from Virginia Beach Virginia to enjoy a meal at this lovely restaurant. The service was excellent. The waitress was above all I was so pleased when she said welcome madame The food was exceptional the best place to eat.

Every visit offers fantastic food! I especially love the oxtails—they're my favorite. Everything on the menu is delicious. The Door never lets me down!
