in the “Cupertino pub Scene” — I don’t know what else to call. not much of a scene, it seems only two “major” bars, britannia arms, which are always overcrowded as heck and duke of edinburgh. small group of friends decided to go there because we were bored at a pausennacht. this assessment does not contain food evaluations, and only 1 beer assessment. Environment: I liked how we had to sit in a very private and quiet stand, while the more ruder mozens to the jukebox and dart play. it was a good pub environment, got the usual stuff, but not a lot. I hate overcrowd bars! old speckled henne: this special pitcher was $20. divided between 5 people in a round 5 mice a prise by control and tipp. sorta expensive, but it was new beer experience. it tasted quite good, with a very sweet and creamy aftertaste. I would recommend this drink. Remember, though, “OLD speckled HEN” I had to look for the drink as it had such a unique name.
when they are in a mood for pub style English eating, they come here! I never tried the fish and chips here, but between my friends and me we have brain puss, cornish pasty and a chicken and mushroom puss. it was all good and extremely filling. but I guess all the English food (at least the English food I tried) is so. this place is not quiet, it is something loud talking with people and has great decoration with this beautiful red print wallpaper. I think there are also dartboards in the corner. eating is not very cheap, but it tastes pretty good when they are in the mood for pub food. it is also located at a strange place as it is in the middle of a pan-Asian plaza. will actually post more information about eating that I actually tried later. in any case a fun place to eat tho.
this place is kind of a throw. it is about 25 years or more. inside it has the British thema down, which they do not really see with new restaurants more. I tried the bark wellington and prime rib. the bark wellington is good and was recommended by brittle one of what I hear. the main rib beautiful and delicate. next time I have to try the fish and chips and brain pussies I hear are also good.
