Booked a table for my dad’s birthday with family as we offen do. Have been going for years and have always had lovely food. I ordered the special, Lamb Henry for just under £20. What I got was a large salad bowel full of sauce (soup) couldn’t see the lamb and was served with mash which dissolved in a couple of minutes and no other veg. Looked so terrible that I sent it straight back (something I never do) and asked for another meal. Was told I could order something else but would have a long wait! Didn’t bother ordering anything as everyone would have finished theirs. Terrible experience and unfortunately won’t go back. Sad as I had always loved the pub and even worked there for 4 years

We have been here before and enjoyed its quirky nature plus good food and drinks. We weren’t disappointed this time either. Our friends had booked a room there which they said was fine and the breakfast ok. We all had an evening meal that was very well cooked and tasted great. Afterwards we went across the road to the beer garden for a couple more drinks and a chat. Lovely evening thank you Eagle and Child. We will return.

Excellent food drink as usual, we reserved a table on a Saturday lunchtime, staff were pleasant as always. We didn’t have a long wait before our food was served, piping hot and really tasty. Drinks are reasonably priced as well. We always enjoy meeting friends here as a nice relaxed atmosphere.

In a traditional English village that is brought alive by the romantic cottages of another time lives a pub with a beautiful beer garden to enjoy your Sunday lunch. It’s a great place to eat after a wonder of the local area and offers a real pub experience with the traditional interior design. Réservez une table maintenant

Our food choices were very disappointing. Chicken and chorizo was nuclear hot as if it had been zapped in the microwave. The scampi was mostly batter and, in contrast to the chicken, was on the cold side. Typical below par pub grub. Just very disappointing.

We had the Roast Pork Roast Beef Sunday Lunches. Very well cooked very tasty, with a good selection of Vegetables. In addition, the Staff were very welcoming, polite friendly. We will return !

A grand old lady of the area and well worth a visit. A very good range of beers plus and extra-ordinary interior of odd collectables hanging from the ceiling. And an open fire too !

Ordered a ciabatta with cheese and fig chutney!! In essence I got a dry cheese roll for £7.50 and a bit of salad! The ciabatta looked like on from Aldi! Totally disappointed Réservez une table maintenant

Awful food. Soggy chips and fish and veg burger had grit in it. Wouldn't recommend. Wasn't even offered a refund
