yesterday evening with mates for our monthly meeting. shared pizzas that were good, but not great. the general consensus about the main course was favorable, but my linguine with prawn was a little bland and could have done with much more seasonal work. to end most young affogato ordered. The Empire Italian restaurant is in Walcott Street, just along from Beaufort, and a group of us went along this week for a spot of lunch – I hadn’t been since just before Christmas when it had only recently opened and was keen to see how it was coming along. A covered patio area at the front with sliding glass windows has an outlook on to the passing parade and we set up there – inside there are more tables and chairs and a bar area; it all looks and feels fresh and airy, and our waiter was friendly, chatty and welcoming.

a beautiful small Trattoria style Italian restaurant. we had a table of four people and ordered antipasto, pizza and pastas. everything came in a contemporary fashion with very courteous waiting staff. the food is for what it is, well known delicious Italian dishes. the place has a beautiful ambiente where you can talk to anyone else. How hard is it to find now? try it out.

excellent pizzas, best I have in restaurant for long time fair price for the quality, will certainly come back to try the others have not yet tried any other menu dishes, but if the quality is the same as presented on the pizzas it is worth visiting.

this place is a good Italian food. went recently and was good to see the place occupied. the waiting staff was really fighting although with how busy it was, but eating came in good time once order placed.
