What a great bar in Cark just 2 minutes from the station. The welcome was fantastic, the beer, the location even the weather was perfect, we got an excellent tip from the owners to walk down to cartmel along the path above the road which paid dividends as we got beautiful views and all the fun of the fair as we entered through the car park entrance. So much nicer to spend £5 on a beer and a stroll, than on the bus. So much so we strolled back and had another beer before getting the train back
Last night we went on a pub tour in the southern part of Furness Peninsula and had a fantastic evening. The menu was simple but well-executed. We enjoyed the burger, scampi, and a large portion of fish and chips, paired with a selection of real ales including Lancaster Blonde and Timothy Taylor Landlord. The service was excellent and we had a cozy table by the fire. Overall, it was a perfect night out.
We had a wonderful stay at the Engine Inn. Jonathan was very accomodating and cooked us a wonderful English breakfast. Great pub atmosphere with friendly staff. Highly recommend.

This restaurant offers the best Sunday dinner and the staff is very friendly. I absolutely loved it.
