What a lovely place to eat at! The food and the atmosphere at the Ettrick is really brilliant. The staff made our evening particularly special as they were so warm, friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. The waitress who served us in particular was just so nice and made us feel like nothing was a bother at all. When we arrived we were seated straight away in a cosy wee corner, the atmosphere felt so cool and relaxed. For those who haven’t been, the pub is split into a bar and a lounge through the wall serving food. They offer a full Indian menu as well as a menu of European and pub classics. I was totally dissapointed with my recent visit to the Ettrick yesterday. My husband and I were out for food with friends in the afternoon where 3 of us ordered steak pie and the other ordered from the Indian menu. The Indian food looked delicious and a decent size portion although the steak pie had very little meat in it, maybe 7 or 8 small pieces with a watery gravy. I don't know whether there wasn't enough steak to go round but in which case they should of told us and 1 of us would have chosen something different. We that had the steak pie were all hungry a couple of hours after arriving home. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Great Indian food and pub choice for those that don't like Indian food. Its a small place, no booking, just turn up. Very friendly and relaxed, although it does get busy so you might have to wait for a table at peak times but that's okay, the bar is right next door. Would go back anytime although just one picky point. I wish they would use less salt in their food, it tasted great without the need for quite so much. Would recommend for anyone wanting a chilled night out for dinner. Nor really a place for large parties. Not tried the beer garden yet, will have to wait for the weather.

Had a great time at the Ettrick with family. Arrived early on a Friday around 3pm. It was quiet but the member of staff working created a great atmosphere with good music and was really friendly and chatty. Food was excellent. This is the 2nd time I’ve been recently and each time I’ve felt the staff have went above and beyond to provide great service (previous time was for the Friday night quiz and the person working behind the bar was so welcoming and lovely). We ordered a home delivery amazing!! Friendly service on the phone. Arrived within time slot. Food was incredible! Fresh, hot, utterly delicious! Really appreciated the complimentary pakoras/poppadoms. We’ll definitely be ordering again…..or visiting in person. We highly recommend this place. Top tip cash payment needed for home delivery.

Phoned up for table told first come first served went up told need to go to public bar till a table was ready but there was 10 empty tables because they were for four or more can’t get a table only two of us place was quiet never be back so don’t go if only two of you plenty other places to eat and better ur loss

Went in April, it was amazing; staff and food brilliant. Then went again three time in May just to make sure staff and food were brilliant (for science I tell thee) and I can conclude that staff and food are absolutely lovely. I now need to be booked into the Golden Jubilee for a gastric band.

This place offers a full Indian menu (as well as British food !and was recommended by friends who had been . Have to say the food was wonderful and very reasonably priced .Their chicken tikka sizzler was fabulous Drinks very reasonable too . Not often you discover a hidden gem like this Réservez une table maintenant

Would love to try this place but they don't have a booking service and fail to answer the phone, drove there twice and never got a table. Must be good shame they can't manage reservations

Always good food, great service and good atmosphere. A difficult choice between Indian or European and Indian won on this occasion.
