The lady on the phone stated that they were going to be very busy but could squeeze us in at 7. However, we were there until 10pm and only saw 2 other tables the whole evening. Unfortunately from the moment of arrival the reception from the restaurant supervisor Laura, was very poor. No enthusiasm towards guests, or the dining experience. The restaurant was quiet for a Monday evening, we chose Monday as we knew that it used to be quieter than the weekend as it would be busy there was only us a party of 6 and 2 to 3 tables with parties no bigger than 4 so approximately 10 dinners that evening. A group of five ladies visited this restaurant and found the decor lovely and the waitresses nice. However, they were disappointed with the poor quality of the food. While the starters, such as the homemade soup, were delicious, the main meals were undercooked. The homemade pies were particularly disappointing, with the chicken appearing undercooked and the pastry rock hard. The vegetables were not fresh and no one in the group enjoyed them. The chicken meal was the only decent dish, but the coleslaw was sour. The desserts were okay, and one of the ladies received hers for free due to the issues with the pie. The staff at the restaurant were both friendly and efficient. There was a good variety of options on the lunch menu to choose from. Our drinks were promptly delivered to our table. The food was freshly prepared and there was a generous portion size. Overall, it was a good pub experience. The only downside was a group of four ladies who complained about the place as soon as they arrived. However, the young waitress handled the situation very professionally.

Ordered the seabass which was nicely prepared but both the potatoes and the Chorizo were raw and undercooked When asked if we could get these two ingredients cooked up on a plate as requested by myself and my friend, it was heated up but not to a very good standard. Have not felt well today as a result of this and it’s a shame as we are very unhappy about this experience
We held a celebration for my husbands 60th birthday with family and chose the premium buffet which was excellent. Many guests commented on the quality of the food. The staff could not do any more to make it as enjoyable as possible and bent over backwards to ensure a good time was had by all. Thank you so much to all the Fancott staff.
We've been here a good few times now, very dog friendly for our girl Luna and they always make a fuss of my daughter too. Food is always great, fantastic service, staff always very friendly and accommodating. Can't fault Rich and his team, will be back soon
Love this place food and drinks are always great and the train in the summer is always a blast…. I don’t care how old I am. But it was great to dine inside for a change and the standard is still high.

Our party of 12 former colleagues felt very welcomed at the restaurant. The food and service were excellent, and the prices were reasonable.
