The Farmhouse at Veritas

My dining experience at Farmhouse was one of the worst I have ever had. Despite its potential, the food was mediocre at best. The mussels in broth were served at room temperature and lacked flavor, indicating they had been sitting for a while. The dish was supposed to be accompanied by focaccia, but we only received a piece of bread that was not focaccia after another diner asked for it. The salad was flavorless, and we had to wait so long for the beef tenderloin and vegetables that our glasses were empty by the time they arrived. We arrived at the Farmhouse early and enjoyed a bottle of Sparkling wine we had bought at the vineyard on the front porch. We had called earlier to ensure this was Ok. We were greeted by Alex Espinosa with a kind smile and a warm welcome. Alex continued to be a gracious host while we waited for dinner as well as throughout the meal. The atmosphere of the grounds and the building are perfect. The views are stunning. Then here comes the food. Course after course was beautifully prepared and matched with delicious wines from the Vineyard. A perfect night would be how I would describe the experience at the Farmhouse

The food, waitstaff and ambiance were fabulous. We had asked for a garden table but the weather was hot and they decided to seat us indoors without our asking. The quiet Happy Birthday was very nice for two old friends celebrating. I loved the music and asked the waiter the source. He told me it was a Spotify playlist called Farmhouse Dinner which was created by the owner. We loved the songs and wondered if there were a way to get a copy of this playlist for our own listening enjoyment or at least a list of the songs. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will return in the future.

We love this place for the ambiance and a chance for an elegant dinner well prepared and served. Food can be uneven and in this case was overall merely good-not distinct as one would hope. Mussels were dry despite being accompanied by a good broth. Salad was missing much “kick” despite set of intriguing ingredients. Main course of beef was done well. Wines are quite good and well matched to courses.
