This restaurant is located in a beautiful, hidden part of the world. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, with high-quality ingredients, freshly cooked dishes, and beautiful presentation. The restaurant is dog-friendly and our furry friend was treated like royalty. It's a popular spot so make sure to book in advance. We enjoyed our experience so much that we have already booked a table for the end of the month. Not one for reviews but travelled to get here for Sunday dinner. To be sat down with a drink and then told they had run out of meat. But mentioned they could do me some pie with trimmings. Surely you should know how many bookings to amount of meat you have. They had my number and yet didn’t ring to let me know. Now left at 6pm on a Sunday to find somewhere else for Sunday dinner. Ended up paying for the drinks and leaving after a wasted journey. Disappointed
The atmosphere was fantastic and the customer service was exceptionally friendly. I went to the restaurant with a friend and we ordered a variety of dishes. My friend raved about their roast dinner and haloumi skewers, while I thought my cheese and onion pie was incredible - the pastry was perfect and the cheese had a lovely tangy flavor. The desserts were also amazing, especially the ply and ginger crumble which is a must-try!
Finally got to this lovely pub for a Sunday roast. My dilemma was that I wanted a roast but also needed to try “the north’s best cheese and onion pie” not a prob as you can have a pie roast! YES! Food was great quality, homemade, piping hot and a generous portion. Staff super down to earth and helpful aswell. I’ll be back!!

Great pub for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely and piping hot when served. Staff were polite and attentive. The kitchen staff worked so hard! Lovely ambience as pub was busy but we could still hear each other. Was a lovely drive out on a Sunday afternoon for us, with a nice roast dinner. Would definitely recommend booking.
Heard about this in an article online. Decided it looked worth a visit. It definitely lived up to expectations. The Sunday roast was great and the pizzas looked delicious too. Asahi on draught was a bonus. Quite small inside so if you're thinking of going I'd recommend booking a table especially on a Sunday.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years. Today, we went for lunch and ordered the vegetable curry along with some sweet potato chips to share. The menu has improved and the staff is very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is great.

We went for the 2nd time for a tea. The service and food were both superb. Well worth a visit . We will be definitely going again .
