This restaurant serves amazing food. The gluten free salt, pepper, and garlic calamari was absolutely delicious. It was the most tender calamari we have ever had (and I have had a lot of calamari in my lifetime). The gluten free menu was very extensive, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a wonderful selection of stunning dishes to choose from. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was outstanding. I would gladly make the hour-long drive to eat here every night. I can't wait to bring our friends back with us next time.
The Fishmonger's Wife is a paradise for those with gluten intolerance. It has become my favorite choice for takeout since being diagnosed as a Coeliac. I initially thought my fast food options were limited, but this restaurant has proved me wrong. I can now enjoy a delicious takeaway meal or dine in and indulge in top-quality seafood, excellent chips, and a wide selection of drinks. The menu offers everything I need with various options to satisfy my cravings. My personal favorites are the salt pepper calamari and flake.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The customer service was exceptional, and the Salt and Pepper Garlic Calamari was incredibly delicious. It made both my partner and I, who have Coeliac disease, very happy. The staff were very patient with our 6-year-old daughter, who kept checking to make sure her food was gluten free. We also enjoyed the new location and dining area.
We have been going to The Fishmongers Wife since it opened here 10 years ago. It is just across the toad from us so we are spoiled!!! The food is consistently very good quality. We also commend them for their excellent, friendly service at all times!! To dine in or take away, it is never disappointing, always top quality.......

A really nice find for us when visiting family nearby. A great place for people who can’t handle gluten (me), but just as good for those who can. The fish was very tender and flavoursome, with excellent chips. Other dishes were just as good for our party. Service was relaxed, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
First time at Fishmongers Wife. Found out they had just moved into Hawthorne premises on 13th March, lovely modern timber booths and tables. Whiting and Salmon was fabulous served with salad of choice from menu and chips were very fresh and crisp Our waiter was very personable and attentive. Will definately go again

Loved it food delicious. My daughter is on a gluten free diet and is thrilled with the salt and pepper calamari and chips.
