Today we took a trip half an hour away from us to The Flower Pot Coffee shop in Long Crenden, Google Maps said it would only take 24 mins to get from door to door but it took much longer than that. We drove round the middle of nowhere listening to our Richard on Popmaster we even got a shoutout I fist pumped the air and everything . Dad had been to this coffee shop before pre Covid in 2014 but said it hadn’t changed, 5 tables in the whole cafe, staff not particularly friendly and the toilet facilities very basic. I struggle with holding a cup so prefer a mug which the staff said ‘yes sure that’s no problem’ we were presented with a cup. The decor in the cafe is very basic a bit run down and...
We had been told about this place by a local in the Village that we were staying at, thanks Paul and Alfie, so decided to take a ride out to try it. The shop was quite empty, but then it was a Wednesday in the middle of the half term, so to be expected I guess. We both had a sandwich. I had the Brie, Cranberry Toastie and my wife had a Cheese and Onion Sarnie. Both were really nice and I forced down a large slice of Carrot cake too.. Nummy. We had the pot of tea between us and the staff were happy to top the pot up with water. This was a perfect place to go as it was only just down the road from where we were staying, but lovely food and Staff.
Arrived at good 20 minutes before they were due to close on a Saturday, out of courtesy I asked, are are still open, and was shocked to hear in a miserable tone depends what you 're having, we can do takeaway coffee . We had two young children with us and had promised a quick cake after visiting the playground. There were still people sitting eating and drinking so we we were really shocked at this response. We are local but will not be coming back that 's for sure. Compared to the service we received from another local cafe just before closing this is a shocking way to run a business.
I went in to this on a Thursday morning with my daughter. I said “hello” and was told “ there are no seats you can have a take away” I didn't find this any sort of service at all. I wasn't asked what I might be looking for, eat in or take away? No suggestion that if I waited a seat might come available soon. It was a cold and raw day so had no desire for a take away, I left and went to Long Crendon Manor cafe. Plenty of seats, excellent service and good tea and cake.

When my sis and I are in UK from Australia The flower pot is our home from home, Helen and her team never fail in their enthusiasm to look after us. Helen makes the best cakes and coffee. Her Brie and cranberry sandwich is to die for. The cafe is small, unique, but the atmosphere is of family. We love it there, can't wait to get back. Thanks guys.
Lovely friendly cafe with freshly made cakes, sandwiches hot and cold drinks. Takes its covid precautions seriously so be prepared to wait a moment for your table to be thoroughly cleaned. Happy to adjust menu items within reason to accommodate your diet restrictions.
We had lunch here today. The food was lovely and the service was really friendly as well. We're looking forward to going back.
