The restaurant tends to be quite busy during peak hours, which is understandable, but their way of managing the crowd is very disappointing. On two separate occasions, I ordered a panini, and the staff failed to communicate with the grill cook, who was right there and ready to prepare it. I ended up waiting twenty minutes before I had to remind them that I was still waiting for my order. They then realized they hadn’t even started making it. All I received were apologies and, once, a $5 gift card as compensation.

Sadly, the manager was just as disappointing as the sandwich itself. When we mentioned that the sandwich didn't meet our expectations, she replied that they slice their tomatoes fresh each morning. After putting us on hold for two minutes, she came back with an offer to refund us $3.50 for a sandwich that cost $8.50. When my husband questioned how she calculated that amount, she referred to it as a "compromise." Her attitude was unprofessional and she showed no willingness to address our concerns, and frankly, $3.50 is far from half of $8.50.

The next day, I asked my wife if she wanted to go back to the same restaurant for lunch, but she said the sandwich wasn’t good. We decided to call The Foodie Shack to share our experience. I requested to speak with the manager, who turned out to be the one who made my wife's sandwich. I explained that the tomatoes were mushy and the bacon lacked crunch. She insisted that the tomatoes were fresh and the bacon was cooked properly.
I acknowledged that while the bacon was cooked well, it still wasn’t crispy. She put me on hold and then offered us a $3.50 discount on our next purchase instead of simply apologizing and rectifying the issue. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
The customer service is disappointing; everyone seems to be in a rush. If you're waiting in line and someone they know arrives, they will skip over you to serve them instead. You often feel like you're bothering them just by being there. As for the food, it's just average. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

12 bucks for a microwaved sandwich, nice people but I got a chicken blt w Mayo and I watched the guy put it in the microwave for a minute. Very confused because if I wanted a soggy sandwich I'd go dumpster diving
I truly enjoy the Foodie Shack! They have creative specials that change frequently, and their soups and salads are amazing. The service is also top-notch. It’s definitely among the best delis on Long Island.
The food is out of this world. The staff is quick and friendly. The hot table is always packed with a great variety. I have worked at deli’s since 1980. These people get it right every day.
The sandwiches are made to order and they excel in what they do. I'm not a regular customer, but whenever I'm on that side of the island, this is my go-to place.

Food is fine but service is lacking. Sandwich/Coffee 7.57 one day and 8.11 the next. When asked why no explanation given. (Not an inflation issue).
