The Funky Mexican Cantina

We visited on a Monday at lunchtime so we had the benefit of a super quick service, which is great when you have a toddler.A sweet little serving of corn chips and salsa is a really friendly way to be greeted too!My tacos were tasty and savory with an added side of guacamole. My mum had the nachos with chill beef and loved them. We had frozen margaritas and they were delicious.The tortillas were stellar and the achiote chicken was delicious. The shredded beef wasn't as savory.However I was disappointed that the high chair we were given was pretty dirty and the toddler meal of 6 chicken nuggets and chips wasn't real great. We went there the other night with high expectations.To say we were let down would be an under statement.The Chilli con carne (cant remember what they called it) tasted more like a bolognese sauce, come on who has ever seen peas and carrots in an authentic chilli con carne ? Not me, beans yes but never carrots or peas.My daughter ordered something that came out on a plate looking like flat pancakes smothered (I mean drenched) in a tomato sauce.The rest of the food was just bland and boring.The staff seemed uninterested in being there let alone helping anybody.Such a shame and its not exactly cheap.

Last night went to this restaurant last night. We were seated quickly and given complimentary corn chips and tomato relish. We ordered a jug of Sangria and a platter with about 6 different food choices. We really shouldn't of had dessert but we did. We had Churros with chocolate sauce and strawberry icecream. We spent $65 which was reasonable considering we got the jug of Sangria. Great food. Beware of the hidden heat. Enjoy!!!

We celebrated my wife's 30th birthday here, 40 people attended this party on Halloween, it really worked well and everyone was so happy with the service and the food. The manager was brilliant and the staff fantastic and attentive, they give us complementary entrees and a bar tab with margaritas and coronas for a great price. I recommend this place for parties or any relaxed occasion, location and atmosphere is great. Réservez une table maintenant

We had lunch here recently and our Mexican meals were excellent. The sizzling prawn fajitas were outstanding and a good size portion. The service was friendly and prompt and the location on a sunny Sunday afternoon overlooking the marina with a relaxed family and friends atmosphere added to the entire experience.

Great food. Good service and lots of tequila. Worth it. Our bill was around $60 but we also shared dessert. My top picks are the Fajitas and the crumbed calamari which melts in your mouth. To finish off have the Churros with chocolate dipping sauce and strawberry icecream. Loved thewhole experience.

My sister and I shared a platter for 2 yesterday at lunch. Food was tasteless and looked old, not sure where the cheese went? My sister also became sick after eating there. Won't see me back there and sad I can't support a local business.
