Visited last Wednesday lunchtime and enjoyed a quality meal in every way. The venue very clean and tastefully decorated with a relaxed country pub atmosphere. Food excellent accompanied by crockery, cutlery and glasses aesthetically pleasing to the eye such details adding to one’s whole experience. My lime lemonade the best ever, I could really see and taste the lime and not overloaded with ice but with a nice wedge of lime in it, in so many places this drink is served so weak you can hardly tell what it is. Our omelettes of cheese, gorgeous ham, and whole small tomato’s and herbs was a real treat for our tastebuds, chips tasty too. I followed with a small dessert of homemade mixed berry sor...
All I can say is WOW ... taste of this food is amazing ... only a few pointers to take them to 5 stars... kids roast had no vegetables at all , we did ask and they never arrived , very pricey so would expect the delivery to be 100 . Also no kids puddings choices.. which can end up very very expensive when you have 4 kids. So other than these points, great food and nice place , would highly recommend. But as times are getting harder people will expect to have moneys worth . And charging what they do for the kids not to have veg is not really exceptable also 2 lots of veg between 10 people is very poor for nearly a 20 roast .
We had an amazing lunch with our family at this restaurant. There were many unexpected, lovely touches throughout our meal. I highly recommend the warm cheese starter, which the four of us shared. The home made beef burger was delicious. The home made ice creams were the best I've ever had, especially with the accompanying brittle and crumb. And be sure not to leave without trying the landlady's home made preserves.
My son came to visit from London and we went for Sunday lunch. Very disappointing, we got two halves of a roast potato, two slivers of beef and a dish of vegetables enough for one person! At £16.75 a plate that is very poor. As we left my son said he was still hungry! We won’t be coming back! I should even rate at 2 stars except the quality of the food was good! I stumbled upon this restaurant on my way back to Kent and I am so glad I did. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the garden area was beautiful. It was also great value for money. I will definitely be stopping by again on my next trip to Hampshire.
