We booked 3 nights using Tesco vouchers (for the last time the offer is not so good now). At first we were quite disappointed. There had been a few issues regarding staff illness and a boiler breakdown and the room did seem a little underwhelming. But the place grew on us. We had booked partly to visit a relative and partly to carry on our tour of English Cathedrals. We had gone to the Peterborough Cathedral Easter Day service on the drive up from Kent and later in the trip called in at Lincoln and Southwell. The most amazing wonderful food. I had a salad made for me. It was absolutely Divine. It was like a treasure trove of flavours. Reading this you might think it only a salad But I can assure you it was a most remarkable dinning experience of the highest quality. The most exciting tasty salad I have ever had in my life. The chef is so talented and skilled. The service was wondering too. Highly highly recommended Service: 5

Brilliant country pub. Turned up by chance on a Sunday evening looking for dinner. Had a brilliant meal and live music! Dog friendly, great food and plenty of choice for beers! The atmosphere was welcoming and felt like a lovely community. Service: 5 Location: 5

Dya know what, this is a pub that has real ales and it's a C.A.M.R.A delegate.. I don't think the locals realise what they've got on their doorstep. They'll be sad if it shuts.

Really friendly, helpful and polite staff. Food portion on the slightly large side, so you definitely get your moneys worth. Reasonably priced aswell.

Great place for a drink after an 11k walk over the hills. The menu looks good too.
