So we were really excited to go and try the Sunday carvery since the refurb and was unable to book a table for a few weeks so was happy when we managed to get one. We got down to the restaurant for 6:30 and we were the only ones in the restaurant. There were no staff at the carvery and no one to welcome us or tell us where to sit. After about 20 minutes of us aimlessly looking at menus a lady came over and asked if we had been spoken to yet. She then told us that the carvery finished in 20 minutes so we would need to hurry up and order. We discovered this Gem a few months ago and are now regular visitors for the Sunday carvery ,which is the best I have tasted for many years. We came as strangers and now leave as friends. FOOD: The Carvery. There is Turkey, Gammon and Beef Roasts on offer and all cooked to perfection. There is a good selection of at least 5 vegetables, the Cauliflower cheese and the Parsnips are to die for .If you do not wish to have carvery there is a food menu available. Dropped in on the off chance and was glad I did. Was told about a 40 minute wait for food. Had cheesy garlic bread to start followed by 5oz surf and turf. Scampi just very slightly overcooked but the steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Finished off with a Cadbury Lovers' Sundae which was lovely. Will definitely come here again. Good food and cost is very reasonable as well.
The manager was absolutely fantastic and nothing was a problem. We have a few allergies in our family and both the manager and the lady at the carvery knew what they were talking about. Your manager even found some dessert for my little boy who couldn’t have anything off the menu. The only thing I could say to improve on was to have some gluten free gravy available for the carvery. Today was my second visit for lunch and I have to say on both occasions I found it to be excellent. The food was prepared fresh and came steaming hot and good portion size, and there is a good selection of food and drinks for all tastes and appetites. The staff are lovely and the service was very good. I will go back. Thoroughly recommend
Stopped off for some food and was not disappointing Services was excellent as was the food. Excellent quality food and since having a spruce up it’s a very nice environment. Highly recommend.
Insufficient signage in their car park, £100 ticket to my disabled wife for being there for less than an hour. Good job guys!
Food was not appetising meat fatty. Potatoes pale and black marks on veg mushy tasted like frozen and not cooked properly
