We have been going to the George for years and have always had good meals and service, that`s why i took 21 friends last year for a Christmas meal. After todays rude hissy fit from the lady owner we wont be returning. My wife and I called in for lunch as we had done many times and the owners do recognise us with a smile and we ordered 2 roast beef dinners which arrived quite quickly after our drinks. I went out for Mother’s Day with my family and whilst the food was of an ok standard the same can not be said of the waitress or service ! Initially we were really happy with the young dark haired lady who took our order but sadly everyone appeared to get involved with the desserts more or less being thrown at us by the blond girl who’s face was like thunder ! My son actually asked if he’d done something wrong when she left ! The Eton mess has two tiny fresh pieces of strawberry and the rest were clearly tinned or had been frozen ! Went for Mother’s Day so expected it to be busy. Generally the food was ok I had the smoked salmon to start which was nice and the horseradish source I have to say was really impressive For main I had roast pork, which was nice but served with 5 tiny roast potatoes that where clearly frozen. The desert again was ok, I had apple crumble but served with fake cream which spoilt it. The staff where very rude and offered no personality what so ever. First time I’ve been in 10 years and certainly won’t be going back again.
We called in on the off chance of getting a table on Sunday lunchtime. They had a table spare. My wife had roast pork I had roast beef. Both meals were delicious. The plate itself was hot, so that meant the dinner stayed hot right through the meal. Good size portions plenty of different varieties of vegetables. The service was excellent.

WON'T BE GOING BACK! This man I'm guessing is owner was so **** rude and even raised his voice to me infront of my children which I didn't appreciate. The food is awful weatherspoons food is better .. children felt like they couldn't play either .. have to say the waitress was surprisingly nice
Lovely meal, great value! Friendly helpful young servers. Very good service for party of9.. such a shame the older lady who seemed to be clearing up later whist we were sorting our bill was extremely rude. The woman swore at us when we were working out the bill almost ready to pay.
Brilliant service and great food. We have been there several times and the food is always good and reasonably priced . The home made cheesecake is great and my favourite dessert. Lots of parking and friendly staff . Highly recommend.
the food was first class, the staff were friendly and efficient and there was a welcoming ambiance. we have been regular diners for over four years and will certainly continue to do so.

Lovely pub and the service and staff were excellent and they knew their menu and their ales etc really well. We all chose different dishes and they were all great.
