Found The Getaway 10 years ago and it’s been getting better every time we go!This trip our amazing server was Lish. Great personality and presence. She was amazing!The menu has been updated from our last visit and lots of great choices. We were there to take in the views and enjoy sitting outside having drink s so we stuck with chips with salsa guac and cheese dip the jalapeño poppers. All delicious!We both started with a tropical drink and then switched to beer! All great and cold!Had a dolphin sighting!The grounds had changed since our last visit and we loved it all!The Getaway is a diamond in the rough. Make sure you plan to go check it out your next trip!
If you want to feel like your on a beach vacation, this would be the place to come.The food was pretty darn good. We had chips queso, BBQ chicken chopped salad, ahi tuna nachos, plantain burger, and buffalo chicken wrap. The food was good, but my sweet tea was from a bottle. No refills and was not told up front and the ranch for the salad was not home made, so those two things were very disappointing and to know prices you had to use your phone.Not the cheapest place around, I felt it was about 15% too expensive for the quality of the food, but I took that 15% as a fee for the view and I was just fine with the bill.
some things you have to consider. okay, we tried for the first time today. some things to remember when they want to enjoy their visit: do not go during peaks (happy hour, or weekend). order their drinks directly from the bar, not from the servers. order their food directly from the food truck, not from the servers. if they do this thing, it is a nice place to have a drink and enjoy the water and the sea breeze.

Need more words in my dictionary to describe our time at The Getaway! Food was good-fish dip, tacos, drinks okay... but the atmosphere and Lauren our waitress made the experience!! It has five areas in which 'you pick ' to sit and enjoy your time there. The view is gorgeous, right on the water, boat coming and going, a little beach for 'the kids '. Simple a great 'island time ' experience.
The only positive aspect was the atmosphere. The food was extremely overpriced, which should have been evident by the lack of prices on the menu. The quality of the food was disappointing and the service was subpar. The restaurant does have a great atmosphere, but unfortunately, that is about the only positive thing about it.
The chicken sandwich was not good at all. The chicken was thinner than the tomato slice and was very tough.I only ate half of it.I asked about breakfast and was told there was none, yet the family that came after me ordered breakfast and the same server even made suggestions to them. ?????
One of my favorite Hangouts in the Tampa Bay area. The Food and Drinks are decent but the Location itself is very special. Small beaches for the Kids, huge Tikkibar and very lush beach. You can even come by boat

Love the vibe of this place. Beautiful water front dining.if you go you have to get jalapeño poppers. They are stuffed with a brisket and wrapped in bacon. I will be dreaming of this later tonight.
