I had made a reservation at the Golf Tavern for a Sunday evening specifically to watch the NFL. I had mentioned this when booking and called in advance to confirm that they would be showing the game. However, when I arrived, the staff were hesitant to switch one of the TV screens to the NFL for me, even though it was advertised as live sport that they offer. Despite pointing out the false advertising, the bar staff member simply stated they were not the manager, which was not a satisfactory or professional response. In for a few family drinks. Ordered at the bar the member of staff whipped their phone out to check their messages/social media the moment I started to process payment, even showing something on their phone to a colleague, before they had finished serving me. Observed the same thing happen to another customer. Drinks and atmosphere good, but not sure what has become of good service. On par with the service faux pas of having a full scale conversation with a colleague when serving a customer. Poor.
The Golf Tavern is a local favorite that can be easy to overlook since it's tucked away and out of sight. However, it's a place I always enjoy going to. It has a laid-back atmosphere, is unassuming, and offers a variety of vegetarian food options. My family from New Zealand also had a great time here, and the waitress who had recently visited Aotearoa made our experience even more special with her personal touch.
We went to this pub to watch a rugby game on a Saturday afternoon. We had booked a table, were given a fairly large table on the side. So plenty space for our drinks and lunch but disappointing in terms of watching the game, as the pub filled up with standing guests. The food and the service were good, the pub is definitely worth a visit for uts character and location by the meadows.

Love this spot! Located right next to the Bruntsfield links, this spot is super easy to grab some food, drinks, and also rent clubs. The staff were super friendly and nice. They offer some really nice deals both for students and golfers. The food was great and won't break the bank. I would recommend checking this spot out if you are nearby.
Got to say how disappointed we were with the food we were served. , the person in the kitchen should be ashamed of themselves the way they sent out the dishes . It was tacky , tasteless, and really just uncaring , If you don’t care or are proud of your work just quit,, The service staff behind the bar and floor were excellent and caring ,
I could have rated better because it was one of the best pies I've ever eaten but when we arrived we found out we only had 5' to order before the kitchen closed! We had a reservation for an all day dining! Wish I could try the dessert...
Food was delicious, big portions and great options! Service is always fantastic at The Golf Tavern and Mason the manager welcomes you in with a big smile. Can't wait for the next visit!

Last week, I had lunch with my coworkers at this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and the seating was comfortable. I highly recommend this place!
