I have been a loyal customer for almost 15 years, but recently the change in chef has noticeably lowered the quality of the food. The chips, once nicely sliced and always crispy, now resemble thick, soft chip shop-style fries with a nearly refried texture. The salt and pepper chicken used to be perfectly sized—big enough to cook well without being tough or stringy, with large chopped onions and half-finger-length spring onions that added great flavor. Now, the chicken is overcooked, and the onions are sliced so thin they’re almost burnt and too small to pick up easily. Why fix what wasn’t broken? This used to be the best Chinese takeaway in town.
