this was undoubtedly one of the best meals we enjoyed during our coast walk. we started with drinks from local spirits (ginntonics, screwdrivers) they were delicious and refreshing. then the meal that was from this world. I had the Catalan fisssile pot, with squid, garnel, mush and pancetta. my wife had a spaghetti blog from local herdwick lamb. as the pictures show, we have them pretty well polished! to enjoy a meal of this caliber after a long day is an unforgettable pleasure. I know we'll eat again one day.
booked well in advance as the coast to the coast. in grasmere they were advised to say they had no reservation in my name or at this time. “Many people have gone and the botanical was perhaps not passed on to “Brilliant”! not exactly what they need after a long walk. So we've planned a new one. went to tweedies, who were welcoming, accepted at a busy evening and eating was very good. the good sport then found the “Lost booking” various progressive inexperienced employees and IT problems as a reason.
We were a party of eight and easily reserved a table on line. Although walk-ins are welcome, just check the time of a reserved table and make sure you vacate it before the time of reservation. Great location after a long walk or for a cheeky drink, great pub food and friendly staff.
Excellent locally brewed beer and the food is fabulous. Ended up having breakfast and lunch here. Very helpful staff including the manager. Good range of seating in and outdoors (you can even sit overlooking the river).

Stopped in this pub with my family for some lunch whilst out walking, the food really hit spot, very tasty. Staff very helpful and the pub had a good atmosphere. We will be returning.
Fantastic little place for drinks. Sitting next to the crystal clear river, drinking great craft beer. What more could you want.
I've ever tasted and tried them all over the world. before cooked, and over boiled.
One of my favorite breakfast places in the village. Hashbrown stack amazing.
