My wife had been to tea and cake at the Grange before and found it excellent. We decided to pop in for lunch on the off chance. Booking is normally essential to ensure that you get in. The Grange is the restaurant and cafe arm of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and fronts the Southern Training Centre located in Saunderton between West Wycombe and Princes Risborough. The menu is modest, offers vegetarian and vegan options. Ingredients are excellent and of the highest quality. I opted for the fish and chips (hake, beer batter, minted peas and chips with a tartare mayo lacked bite for my taste) and the other half had the tomato and basil soup). Both were excellent. Prices are very reasonable and, of...

I have visited here a few times for brunch/coffee but this time I visited for a Hearing Dogs Tour (go to their website, and it is £7.50 per adult to see the work they do and learn how important their work is. The tour is run by volunteers and staff who are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and enjoy what they do. Their passion really comes through you also get to meet a working partnership (dog plus owner) which is wonderful. Throughout there is plenty of scope to ask questions to appreciate and learn what they do. I think the price for the tour is very cheap, so in my opinion please do tap your card on the way out to donate a little more if you can the work they do is not Government funded,...

Unfortunately today was the second time this month, I have visiting the Grange to receive a very poor experiences. The first time table service was poor, staff forgetting to bring all items ordered to table a number of times, and as we were shown to sit on the Sofa area being told not to spill our food on the Sofa!!! Today the 2 Barkwell Tart were inedible, was offered a small refund for 2 cups of tea, not the cake a £4 per slice, than refund was then put onto the incorrect card. with no apology. I am totally disappointed with both visits and it would not be some I would return too or recommend. I am fully aware Volunteers help but training could be much improved.

Our lunch was delicious a ham hock crepe and a club sandwich, followed by a couple of lovely little cakes (rhubarb custard, and pistachio ginger). Good coffee too, This was a special meal in more ways than one. It was the first time we had eaten out since February 2020. After self isolating for more than a year our visit to The Grange was a first step towards normality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and Covid regulations were fully complied with. We felt safe and relaxed. We will be back to sample some of the other tempting items on the menu. Thank you to all involved in this lovely enterprise. Nice to see the dogs too. Went for lunch today and was very disappointed. I had fish and chips. Somebody should tell the chef that chips are not thin French fries as I was served. Also mushy peas should not contain mint. The piece of fish was possibly a childs portion. My wife had linguine with prawns. Not many prawns and those that were there were over cooked. We understand that it runs as a charity but it still needs to have honest reviews and this is one. Over priced for what we received.

We visit on a very regular basis, lovely venue especially if it's a sunny day and you can sit outside. The team are lovely and very welcoming, you can see the puppies come in from their training as they pass through the restaurant, always a lovely treat! Definitely recommend a visit to the Hearing Dogs Cafe, it is indeed a hidden gem.

Wow . Outstanding food and service in a very clean and pleasant environment .Had a chicken salad that exceeded expectations with the variety and flavours . My mother had chicken skewers which were equally tasty .If you are in the Risborough Wycombe area look it up located at hearing dogs for the deaf , haw lane .

A fabulous family visit really tasty food, and staff and volunteers were very welcoming. Seems a shame to still see no shopping available at all. Still miss not being able to buy a few bits before I leave. Particularly missed this time of the year not being able to choose and purchase my Christmas Cards. Réservez une table maintenant

Poor experience for the second time in a row. Main front of house woman is very unfriendly and really sniffy if you haven’t booked even if the place is empty. Coffee was not great either. Will give it one more go as it’s a nice space.
