On New Year’s Day we went to the cinema in Southland and went here for a meal after the movie. Maybe the chef had a big NYE or something but this was a very big disappointment. This place isn’t cheap either so you’d expect value...for money. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered the following; 2 kids burgers Vegan focaccia And Spaghetti with seafood. After about 30 minutes the food arrived. There was one other person dining , so no rush on ! Kids burgers were undercooked Focaccia came out missing some of the filling advertised and looked terrible with wilted spinach and what looked like boiled pumpkin rather than roasted.When questioned about the missing ingredients, the wai...
I’d never really given Groove Train much thought until 2017 when a friend of the family gave my aunt a voucher for 2 people to have breakfast. I went with her and really enjoyed both the pancakes and the orange juice I ordered so...much so that I’ve come back here multiple times, bringing other family members with me. My most recent visit, however, has been November 2018 to have brunch before seeing a movie. Once again, I had pancakes with ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed them. They taste as good as the Pancake Parlour but under $15 and you get berries, ice cream and maple syrup. Add a drink (in this case, a hot chocolate they do decent hot chocolate and coffees) and you’ve got a decent brun...
We are currently sitting in Groove Train with our four kids. We are deeply unsatisfied with the service at this place. It felt like a long time to wait for our meals. We ordered garlic pizza which was ok and then waited another 30 min...for our meals. Does not seem much but all the tables around us were getting their meals before us. Unfortunately I found the manager to be quite terse when we asked hi why it took so long. It was busy for sure but surely they plan for that. The kids thought it bearable. My salad had three chicken tenderloins. My daughters fish and chips very greasy. I’m just annoyed. There are other choices in Southlands i would go to instead.
The Groove Train is one of the numerous dining options located in Southlands near the Village Cinema complex. While we have dined here in the evening before, this time we tried their breakfast and found it to be disappointing. The breakfast included a small half tomato and sausages that were overcooked and tough (likely pork). When we brought this up, we were only offered a minimal discount. With so many other dining choices in the area, we will definitely be exploring other breakfast options in the future.

The staff at this restaurant was extremely friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed with the wok noodle bowl I ordered as it was lacking in both glossiness and ingredients. The portion of noodles and chicken was limited and the menu advertised Asian greens that seemed to be pre-packaged and not very fresh. At $26 per dish, I found this experience to be quite disappointing.
I’m always wary when I look at a menu that has dozens and dozens of options and across multiple cuisines; Italian, Asian, European, Mexican etc. it makes concerned that they can’t deliver on it all well. We’ve eaten here a few times and I stick...to burgers and pizza. Service is good. So far. So good!
The coffee is consistently good and the muesli was fresh and generous. The prices are reasonable for a shopping center. I would be happy to visit again, although it can get quite loud even when there aren't many customers.
BLT had dirt all over the bread, was dry, tasteless and horrible!! The worst food I’ve ever eaten. The staff were so rude and nasty as well, made us feel like we were the rude ones for ordering food!! Do not eat here!!

one of our favorites. I'm here a few times and never disappointed. service is fast and friendly. the food is freshly cooked and delicious. not bad for a shopping center restaurant. will come back.
Went here before my friend and me went to the cinema. Food was amazing and waitress was really helpful. Only downside was that it was a very loud environment but that’s just down to the location
